Start button quit working but all others buttons still worked Kevin C. • Dallas , TX • August 24, 2014
Opened up door panel, unplugged ribbon cable from old keypad and plugged in new keypad without installing just to verify keypad was the problem. Start button on new keypad worked so I then removed old keypad which is basically just like peeling off a sticker. Next step was to remove leftover adhesive using solvent. This was most time consuming step of the repair. Once adhesive was removed I cleaned the mounting surface thoroughly to ensure new keypad would adhere. I then passed ribbon...

No lights or response from touchpad Peter H. • Cohasset , MA • March 01, 2015
Bought the control board/touchpad piece. It is a kitchen aide/whirlpool part.
Searched around on the internet and found some videos on how to replace it.
It was plug and place once I got it in there.
Very happy that I could do it myself.
Note: I removed the original piece first and got the part number on it so I made sure that I was getting the correct part (a little confusing because several companies use that touchpad).
Needed torque screwdriver

My dishwasher quit due to a high voltage strike near our home and it would not reset Velite M. • Sulphur Springs , TX • May 27, 2016
My son-in-law checked it out, posing questions to an electrical support group, and determined I needed another control unit.
NOTE: This had happened 3 years earlier, while the unit was still under warranty thankfully, but the certified repairman told me it would have cost me "out of pocket" over $400.00 to replace.
My son-in-law ordered a replacement board, which arrived within 3 days. He then installed it and my machine now works like new!

Dishwasher wouldn't cycle properly, would hang during washes Renae M. • Kettering , OH • April 20, 2021
I noticed something was wrong when the dishwasher no longer remembered the last cycle performed. After it finished, it would go to a default cycle. A couple of weeks ago, my husband said it wouldn't start. Then I noticed on subsequent washes, there was a high probability that it would hang at a random part of the wash cycle. I was able to reset it though. The last time it stuck was during the pre cycle, where it drains any water and runs the disposer. It hung there all night! I tried cycling...

'start' and 'cancel' buttons (the two on the right) would not light up nor work buttons on the left side did work Pete H. • Cypress , CA • July 23, 2015
My Maytag dishwasher model # MDB7749AWM2 has a diagnosis routine where you push 'normal wash' then 'heated dry' three times in quick succession. This made the machine cycle through all the functions. This demonstrated to me that all systems functioned. So I came to the conclusion that it was only the lights/buttons that did not work, and I was right. So I ordered a new Panel Control. (I've seen that many more Maytag's use this same part)
To replace the Panel Control took 9 minutes.

Kenmore dishwasher recurring front control panel problems Brad G. • Pearland , TX • April 21, 2015
I replaced the panel, for the third time in about 7 years. its a bit sad that A) kenmore/whirlpool cannot make a control panel that can last longer than 5 years of normal household use, and B) that the panel costs $135 . so that means that the $800 kenmore sits at $1070 in price, due to the two repairs that i have made over the last seven years. this control panel is about 10 or 12 switches, with a 15 pin ribbon cable that connects to the control module. i would rate this as about a $50...
