Bad dryer timer Darlene T. • Fayetteville , AR • August 22, 2014
After calling Whirlpool customer support learned that a replacement timer would be $136. The CSR gave me the part number needed. Online I found AppliacePartsPros. I called and got a very personable CSR who took my order. I was assured the part was a genuine, new--not rebuilt--timer. My order was placed in minutes. Although I ordered standard shipping and my part arrived in 2 days!! Unfortunately Whirlpool had given me the wrong part number so I contacted AppliancePartsPros and reordered...

I ordered the new hinge and the cap they said would be needed, took the door apart and installed new hinge. Only problem, wish they told me I needed 4 of the caps, for one hinge and each cap was 11.95 x 4...pretty spendy. Fortunately I was able to reuse 3 of my worn ones for now.

Dryer selector knob and timer broken John L. • Jacksonville , FL • June 11, 2019
The selector knob and timer quit working on our GE dryer. We noticed the plastic selector knob was cracked inside when we pulled it off. We decided to order a new timer along with the selector knob just in case the new knob didn't solve the problem. We put on the new knob as easy as we pulled it off and the dryer would turn on again, however it was not going off in the selected amount of time it was supposed to. So it turns out we did need the timer part as well. These parts came in the...

After taking the timer apart to see why it would not turn I found the timer motor was jammed. Taking the motor apart I found a broken gear. Looked up the model number of the dryer and found a new timer assembly thru appliancepartspros.com I ordered, a very easy process, received the part 2 days later. Dryer would not stop running. Alan H. • Hampton , VA • April 24, 2020
The replacement from AppliancePartsPros was a perfect match at a good price. The site also provided enough information to be pretty certain the timer was the source of our problem. Once I swapped out the timer the dryer ran perfectly again. The job was very easy except for 1 problem. The timer is mounted to the control panel using 2 pinch/spring clips, 1 above and 1 below. The above clip was easy to compress and release using either standard pliers or needle nose pliers. But the below...

Dryer suddenly wouldn't start Suzanne B. • San Antonio , TX • December 20, 2021
I'm not at all an expert in repairs...I learn how to fix things as they break by researching online so that I don't have to pay a repairman and by doing so have learned a lot of things as a homeowner, but this was my first dryer repair. My dryer had been working perfectly and then suddenly wouldn't start. The inside light still functioned, so it was still getting power. There was a quiet ticking noise coming from the back when plugged in which I determined to be from the timer trying to...

Plastic shaft on dryer timer rounded required replacement to function Norbert G. • Hempstead , NY • July 14, 2025
Easy fix, first I unplugged the dryer. Then removed the 6 Philips head screws on head unit back panel. Photographed wiring on timer. Removed the 1 torx screw holding the timer assy in place, the front panel knob was already off, would no longer stay on. Removed the wires from the timer assy, removed the timer, replaced it with new one, reinstalled torx screw. Reattached the wires to the positions removed from. Pressed the new knob on the shaft at front panel, tested it functioned and in the...
