Ice maker stopped producing ice William W. • Southampton , NJ • July 31, 2015
My first hour: I investigated first by pulling out refridgerator to see if the water line hose was kinked. I started under the kitchen sink where it begins, coming from faucet water supply. Then I followed it to the back of the fridge to see if anything looked odd. Next I went to the ice maker itself. I investigated the ice maker by removing the freezer food sliding tray and hanging tray, and then unscrewing the door off the slides. When I looked inside at the ice maker, I saw the tube where...

Ice maker stopped making ice. Steve C. • Dripping Springs , TX • September 30, 2019
Well, I got online and found several YouTube videos on how to check what was happening. I have a multimeter and tools. I first replaced the external water filter just to make sure it wasn't that, and it needed it. That wasn't the problem. I then removed the water inlet valve which was really easy. I didn't disconnect the water lines but I did unplug the power plug. Using the ohms setting on the meter, I tested the coil of the valve solenoid. It wasn't open. I checked the voltage at the plug...

Ice maker stopped working in mid cycle after filter change. Stephen L. • Kawkawlin , MI • December 29, 2021
After researching a number of sites for a diagnosis I tended to think the culprit was going to be the ice maker thermostat. Checking pricing and availability of the thermostat prices were very close at $40 BUT wait now you have to but the thermo mastic at another $35-$40. And after some continued research the factory ice maker in a $3000 msrp 4 door refrigerator was/is known to be defective long after warranty period expires. So it only made intelligent sense to buy the entire icemaker at a...

The icemaker stopped making ice Dennis B. • Reno , NV • October 10, 2014
I replaced the icemaker. It was fairly easy, with the most difficult part being access to the icemaker in the bottom freezer. I loosened two screws, removed one additional screw, disconnected the wiring and removed the old icemaker. I mounted the wiring harness and ice level sensor arm from the old unit onto the new icemaker and installed it with no problems. I wish I'd done this months ago instead of repeatedly attempting to repair the old icemaker.

Ice tray mangled. Benjamin M. • Seattle , WA • April 11, 2020
Replaced ice maker unit. 4 screws to remove cover on inside door. 2 screws for ice maker. Three connectors: ice maker on/off switch, LED light, wiring harness connector. A second person assisted by bracing the door for me, but not necessary to get the job done. I also used some cellophane and tape to cover the door opening for the 5 minutes it took to replace the unit. Again, not necessary, but it was quite warm out and it kept the freezer contents from thawing out. Appliancepartspros.com had...

Freezer not producing ice Douglas R. • Columbiana , AL • April 14, 2014
No water was making it to the icemaker, so I first replaced the dual water valve. The valve was bad, but still no water at the icemaker. So I ordered the recommended icemaker from AppliancePartsPros. It arrived in a couple of days and took less than 15 minutes to drop in. The new unit was producing ice in less than 30 minutes. Your parts search, photos, repair videos and quick delivery made the whole process painless.

Fresh food section not cooling on GE French door refrigerator. Since the freezer and the lower part of the fresh food section was freezing. The evaporator fan was the likely issue. Colin O. • Brewster , MA • November 12, 2021
Shut off power in the panel box - easier than getting at the plug behind the unit. Had to take out the lower full-width drawer and the two crispers next. Removed two screws on the shelf above the wide drawer and removed the two shelf parts. Next was removing a screw from each wide drawer support. Then I pulled the support forward about an inch to disengage it from a post towards the back. There is a wiring connection in the right-hand support you will need to disconnect.
Next, I removed a...

My ice maker just stopped making ice. Mark A. • Franklin , TN • March 31, 2014
I watched the AppliancePartsPros.com video, which made the replacement of an ice maker look pretty easy. The only problem was that my existing wiring harness was affixed to the inside of my refrigerator, whereas in the video, the existing cord was shown as readily disconnectable, so I was unsure how to proceed. Then I saw a comment by another user, expressing the same issue. The AppliancePartsPros representative advised the consumer simply to retain and use the existing, affixed wiring...

Samsung refrigerator ice maker frosting up Todd F. • Arlington , VA • December 01, 2016
I replaced the ice maker after replacing the ice try and before that the ice chute gasket. All easy fixes. However, I am still seeing some frost build-up leading me to believe that the issue is just a faulty design, which I have read other posts on. Just too much warm air gets in the ice maker because it is located in the refrigerator, plus warm air probably finds its way from the outside dispenser, up the chute into the ice maker. Oh well, nothing the occasional hair dryer won't take care of,...

Ice bucket auger broke up front where the ice is pushed out of the freezer Mark D. • Columbia , MO • March 25, 2017
This was a little more involved than I originally thought, but after watching the video on the site it wasn't so bad. They walk you through each step verbally and visibly so you can see exactly what to do. Replacing the auger took around 20 minutes, and only that long because the screw holding the ice shield was a bit tough to turn. I just applied gentle pressure and turned slowly until it became loose. The rest was fairly easy, but I did get a small cut from the ice crusher blades. Nothing...

Ice kept jamming and i would have to empty bucket almost daily Janet S. • Gilbert , AZ • May 01, 2016
I noticed that the bottom of the plastic bucket was cracked even though it was less than two years old. I called Samsung and they wanted to charge me almost $200. Instead, I found the part at appliance parts pros for half that cost. Since I replaced the ice tray bucket assembly, my ice maker is working perfectly!
