Noisy bearings Gerald D. • Belle Vernon , PA • October 18, 2014
Repair went fairly smoothly by following the EXCELLENT how-to video provided. I had only a few issues and suggestions. 1. Because many of the screws and fasteners are of multiple sizes, I would recommend laying them out in a muffin tray or on a paper with labels for where they go back. 2. After removing the weights and prepping to remove the shock absorbers, after the front ones were removed, the tub tilted so far the rear shock absorber separated. The friction pads fell out. It was easy...

Maytag Gas Dryer Model: MGDE300VW1
I had previous experience with repairing my dryers, but this was a first for this model. Instructional videos very helpful. Ordered necessary parts and they were delivered with-in two days. Wow!
Squeak found to be coming from idler pulley roller which no longer turned freely . The four other cabinet rollers had signs of wear. Dryer belt had frayed edges and a couple of burn spots in the belt from the motor turning before the drum did. Cleaned up all shafts...

Whirlpool lsr7233eq0 washing machine was leaking out the bottom Jerald F. • Laud Lakes , FL • April 05, 2015
I had previously replaced the pump about 1 year ago. That was not the problem. Still leaked the same way - intermittently, but always in the center of the washer onto the floor. None of the hoses were leaking - no evidence of corrosion or water mineral residue at any of the hose fittings. So, it must have been something else. I studied the parts diagram for the washer tub assembly and concluded the source of the leak almost had to be the outer tub's Centerpost Gasket. It was really the...

Constant beeping no heat Amy N. • Pike Road , AL • March 27, 2018
My 12 year old Frigidaire stack on top dryer had been beeping distress messages in some unintelligible code for about a year when it completely stopped producing heat. It also had a long standing issue with delicate fabrics and thin straps or drawstrings getting caught in the drum. After using this site to troubleshoot and viewing the useful how-to videos, I ordered and replaced the heating element, thermal limiter, and felt seals. Based on others' stories, I decided to also replace the rear...

Water leaking from bottom of washing machine Alex P. • Coram , NY • July 25, 2015
I will say that the GE Washer/Dryer combo is nice if you need to save space, but trying to fix it was far from "fun". It took several hours to get to the location of the Seal Tub. First the dryer had to come off the top, then pretty much every bit of the internals needed to come out too, The seal could not be accessed from the bottom of the machine, and it wasn't easy to get to it from the top. If you have patience, and keep track of everything you did, so you can undo it, the project can be...

Felt/nylon "bearing" felt glide assembly for dryer drum front end support had worn nearly completely away Harlan D. • Warrenville , IL • November 19, 2014
Get some acetone at a Hardware Store before you start. A pint will do. Unplug the dryer from 110 VAC. Pull the top off of the dryer, by lifting it from the front first. It is attached with snap metal fittings. Do not completely remove the top, just tip upright to gain access to the front interior of the dryer. Before you pull any wires from the door switch, record which color wires go to which terminals on the door switch. If you reassemble the connections incorrectly, the gas value will...

Not spinning clothes dry Marjorie S. • Lansing , NC • December 16, 2017
Replaced clutch assembly, gearcase input shaft seal and motor coupler. When I disassembled the washer I realized the shaft seal on the top of the gearcase was leaking and not the input shaft seal. So had to order more parts before I could finish this job. Altogether I replaced agitator dogs, both seals on the gearcase, the clutch assembly and the motor coupler.
Agitator dogs replacement is a very easy job, no tools required, takes less that 5 minutes and made a huge difference with how well...

Water leaking from my front load washing machine Donald H. • Tustin , CA • July 03, 2015
Removed the top cover while the machine was operating, located the source of the leak. The top filler tube had worn a hole in a flex point. Found the right part on this site, replaced it with little effort. While in there I saw a similar hose and decided to replace it as its time was probably up too. So far so good, washing clothes and no leaks!! Great prices and best of all the right parts were delivered in a timely manner. Thanks for making this so easy. Only specialty tool used was hose...

Noisy spin cycle Gregory E. • Halifax , PA • April 17, 2017
I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. So when the bearings started to get loud I thought it best to replace them, the seal kit and the belt. I did my research as best I could and decided to order the OEM parts from an appliance supplier. If you are replacing the bearings, watch on line videos prior to performing the job. It will...

Bearings were worn out makeing a lot of noise Lawrence L. • Largo , FL • August 08, 2015
I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. After I struggled to get it apart The repair went very easy, I used brake spring pliers to remove the springs it worked like a charm. I am very pleased with...

There was a strong smell of mold coming from the door boot. Thomas H. • Netcong , NJ • June 12, 2022
I replaced the door boot with a new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. The most difficult part was starting at the back end of the new boot onto the stationary rim, just in front of the tub. And then anchoring it in place with the existing spring from the previous boot. To start the boot I had to hook the top edge of the boot, where the arrow tab is, onto the rectangular projection on the tub rim and then roll the rubber boot edge down around the tub rim and hope the rim was going into the...

Very noisy then ultimately bearing failure and a broken shock mount Brian B. • Canton , NY • September 23, 2014
I watched the video posted by Jerrod Sessler on yellow van handyman.com. Then I had to unstack the dryer from the washer, remove all covers, disconnect all hose connections, shock mounts and springs and remove the tub assembly. Then I disassembled the tub assembly and remove seal and both bearings from the rear half. At this point I cleaned everything. I installed new bearings and seal, installed the basket and assembled both tub halves using a new gasket and silicone, and reinstalled the...

Water leak running across floor after use Tim B. • Rumford , ME • March 23, 2014
I tore into the washer until i found what i thought was the problem which was the upper outer tub splash cover gasket and when i couldnt find one in my town i ordered a new one from u folks and replaced it hoping for the best and was successful. This fix costed me $35 instead of the $400+ for a new washer glad i looked into it instead of discarding it and buying a new one as most may do thanks
