Fix a washer that won't spin or agitate with a new transmission. Common symptoms include loud clunking noises or clothes staying wet after cycles.
Using appliancepartspros.com site took washer apart to diagnose bad clutch. The clutch was bad but once inside I noticed grease everywhere and after a quick online chat with rep. determined gear case was leaking and needed replacement. Replaced clutch & gear case. Followed video tutorial and took a little more than 30 minutes start to finish for me - I have no experience. The most difficult part for me was actually just getting the retainer ring (little wire) to secure clutch in place-took... Read more

Use the videos on this website here and you can repair most brands. Many are duplicate in design. 1. Unplug the machine. 2. Move it away from a confined area to get more room. 3. Remove lint filter and the two screws that hold the exhaust filter port to the top of the cabinet. 4. Use a putty knife or actually a butter knife and release the top of the cabinet from the main drum housing. You will slide the knife between the top and the main cabinet at the plastic catches. Washer won't spin or agitate? A faulty direct drive motor often causes spinning failure and burning smells. Moderate DIY repair in under 2 hours.
All's well that ends well, but the getting there was a bit of a pain. The web site suggests 3 possible causes for my problem (incl. the burning smell). I began with the first two since they were inexpensive compared to the motor, which was the third cause (and also the least often cause). There is no way to visibly tell if the motor is bad or not. After replacing the clutch assembly, which did have some plastic pins broken off) and the motor coupling (which actually looked fine, but the... Read more

Noisy spin cycle or loose tub? This spanner nut secures the washer tub to the drive shaft. Requires spanner wrench for installation. DIY-friendly.
First off I have to say that Appliance Parts Pro's saved me from hiring a repair person, and quite possibly just getting rid of my washing machine. Their video's helped out SOOOOOOOO much and the advice one of their agents gave me over their online chat helped me trouble shoot something when I got stuck. On top of this they shipped my parts fast enough that less than 12 hrs later they arrived, which allowed me to get my machine up and running way faster than the other options I had available.... Washer won't spin or makes grinding noise during spin cycle? The basket drive rotates the wash basket. Moderate DIY repair with video guidance available.
I ordered what I thought were the necessary parts from appliancepartspro.com as my washing machine wouldn't spin. I should have watched there videos before I began as I took the whole cabinet off and everything and after receiving the parts and watching their video realized I didn't need to do so, at that point in time. When I put the pieces back together I found that the tub was really stuck, it would move but for the most part it was hard to move and creating a horrible noise. I knew I... Read more

Seals the agitator cap to prevent water leaks into the agitator assembly. Replace if you notice leaking during wash cycles. Verify fit with your model.
I had previously replaced the pump about 1 year ago. That was not the problem. Still leaked the same way - intermittently, but always in the center of the washer onto the floor. None of the hoses were leaking - no evidence of corrosion or water mineral residue at any of the hose fittings. So, it must have been something else. I studied the parts diagram for the washer tub assembly and concluded the source of the leak almost had to be the outer tub's Centerpost Gasket. It was really the... Read more
Bearing and seal kit for washers. Replace when you hear grinding, thumping, or banging noises during spin cycles. Includes bearings and seals for shaft.
In reality, this turned into a full-on rebuild project - with several parts orders, not just a simple repair. But I have to give credit: The parts listings with pictures on the AppliancePartsPros web site were really useful in figuring out what was going on inside the machine, and what parts I would need. Also: The repair videos were critical for me to be able to ensure I was reassembling everything correctly. Shout out to Simon, who was featured in several of the repair videos. His "gorgeous... Clutch band and lining kit transfers motor power to the drum during spin cycle. Replace if washer spins slowly or won't spin. Verify fit by model number.
My parents have the older 80 series washer and dryer that gets used way more than a consumer washer and dryer was ever meant to be used. The washing machine finally said im tired. During the spin cycle it was making a really loud squealing noise and during the agitation cycle it would barely agitate the clothes. So i ordered the basket drive to get rid of the squealing during spin cycle and noticed the dogs on the cams were warn and werent grabbing so ordered the whole cam kit to be safe... Read more

Washer just hums but won't start? The motor capacitor enables your washer to start and run. Easy 10-minute fix with our installation video guide.
Not knowing for sure that the problem was the capacitor, I was reluctant to purchase and replace the part. I went AppliancePartPros.com web site and clicked on the part replacement video. The repair video was short and well illustrated. Before the repair began, the service rep says, " the reason you would replace the capacitor is that after turning the timer on, the machine would just hum." The instruction video was the reason that I purchased the part at AppliancePartPros.com The part was... Read more
