I watched the video on replacing the switch on a side freezer where prying out to original switch did not look difficult. I then got on the floor and tried to pry out my switch. After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. I cut the clip plug and wired it to the new motor, installed the fan blade from the old motor and re-installed the new motor. Thank you to everyone who entered comments, especially about the "Clicking" sounds when it was trying to turn on the compressor. I did not notice them at first, but then heard them and was confident that one of these parts (or both) had a problem. Fix a refrigerator that won't cool or clicks repeatedly. This compressor start relay powers the start winding to help your compressor run. DIY repair.
After running some tests I determined that the problem was a bad defrost timer. The timer would occasionally fail to trigger the compressor to restart at the end of the defrost cycle.
