Dryer won't heat or shows E64 error? High-limit thermostat cuts power if overheating occurs. Moderate DIY fix with our video guide and instructions.
My appliance repair guy checked out the problem, but the stack washer dryer required the contractor to dismantle the cabinet to allow the repair to occur. So i wanted the parts available for the repair, so we would not have to have the dryer pulled apart in a small space for an extended time i ordered the parts on Friday afternoon and they arrived at my home before noon on Saturday! The contractor and the repairman were able to coordinate the repair on Tuesday morning, and though the... Read more
Washer won't spin or drain? Error code E47? The door lock assembly often causes these issues. This moderately easy repair typically takes 30 minutes.
I ran a diagnostics check on the washing machine and came up with the error code E47 -Board thinks the door PTC circuit is open in spin. The washer thought the door was open and would not finish the spin. I was left with a washer full of very wet clothes. This repair was SO extremely easy. I only needed to uses a pair of needle nose pliers and a screw driver. It took less than 10 minutes, start to finish. Now the new door lock assembly registers correctly and my clothes are completely... Read more

Washer won't drain or spin? A clogged or failed drain pump is the likely cause. This part removes water from the tub between cycles. DIY repair in 15-30 minutes.
So, Saturday, the washer wouldn't drain, yes, I tried the Drain/Spin cycle. So I took the clothes out, rinsed them out twice in the laundry sink and dried them. After a quick Google search, I came to the conclusion that the pump was bad and ordered a pump, $125. Over the course of the next four days, expecting the new pump on Thursday, I baled out the washer, pulled it out from the wall and propped up the front (it's HEAVY), removed the front access panel, removed the drain inlet and outlet... Dryer not drying or making loud noise? The blower housing assembly circulates hot air through the drum. Most DIYers complete this repair in under an hour.
The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. Lack of parts and hardware challenged the effort. For example, the blower assembly did not have the slide capture for the motor. I had to use the old one which is showing its age. With the exception of the drum... Read more

Shock absorber kit for front-load washers. Includes 2 absorbers, pins, and hardware. Replace when broken, cracked, or worn to restore stability.
I watched the video posted by Jerrod Sessler on yellow van handyman.com. Then I had to unstack the dryer from the washer, remove all covers, disconnect all hose connections, shock mounts and springs and remove the tub assembly. Then I disassembled the tub assembly and remove seal and both bearings from the rear half. At this point I cleaned everything. I installed new bearings and seal, installed the basket and assembled both tub halves using a new gasket and silicone, and reinstalled the... Read more
Dryer not heating or overheating? A faulty control thermistor may send incorrect temperature data to the control board. 30-min repair with video.
Replaced control board. Did not need Control Thermistor in my case, but I'm keeping it as backup. Got the Drum Belt just in case it breaks on me since the dryer is aging. To replace control board: Disconnect power and pull dryer away from wall. Take 2 black screws on the back off to remove the top lid. Remove 2 screws on top that hold the control interface on. Remove 2 screws on the bottom backside of the control. Pull out control panel and pull off terminal connections and push to remove... Read more
Flexible gasket sealing washer door to drum, preventing leaks during cycles. Replace when torn, leaking, or showing mold buildup. Confirm fit.
Fixed by replacing the washer door seal "Bellows". Once again AppliancePartsPros comes through with the right part at a great price. It took quite some time to install because putting the inside spring back on the bellow was difficult so I needed to remove the top and front door of the washer to get better access. A set of 3 or 4 plumbing clamps are highly recommended to get that spring back on (I went to the store and bought some). If you search YouTube about replacing the bellows on your... Read more

Fix a washer leaking from the top or filling when not in use. This water inlet valve controls hot and cold water flow. Easy 30-minute DIY repair.
It was really easy to fix. I just took a screw driver and gently pried up on the top of the clothes washer to open up the top. Then the mixing valve was easy to access. I removed the two screws holding and unplugged the the wires. And pulled the old one free. Then reversed the process to install the old one. Less than thirty minutes start to finish. Read more
Replace your washer's cracked or broken outer door panel. This white plastic cover protects the door frame and attaches at the hinge. Restores appearance.
I took the door assembly apart by removing the 7 screws on the inner door and the 2 on the striker. I removed the hinge from the washer so that I could place it inside the door when I put it back together. This is much easier then trying to reassemble the door while the hinge is attached to the machine. Once I lined up all of the pieces properly, I screwed it back together and remounted the striker. I then put the entire door back on the machine by screwing in the three screws that hold on... Read more
