Dryer drum roller axle mounts to the rear panel and supports drum rollers. Replace if bent, worn, or wobbling. Helps eliminate noise from damaged axles.
Replaced the tension pulley assembly, drum rollers, drum roller axles, belt, and drum glides while I had the dryer disassembled. It turned out that the cause of the squeak was the tension pulley assembly, however it was easy and economical enough to replace anything that could have been the cause of the squeaking while I had the dryer apart. The parts were ordered on Thursday afternoon and delivered on Friday. I had the dryer repaired and running like new in no time. For about $100, it was... Read more

I went ahead and ordered the element, and the 2 different thermostats not knowing exactly which one might be the problem. My My Maytag opens from the front and it was actually pretty easy to get into. Also gave me the opportunity to vacuum out the inside of the dryer. Pop the top off, remove the wires that connect the door switch (noting the colors and placement), take off the 2 inside nuts that hols the fron on, pull it forward and lift it off, 3 inside screws to take out to inside lint part... I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. I was very proud of myself, as a woman, that I fixed this problem myself and didnt have to pay a repair... Read more

After verifying the no heat problem myself, I just googled "LG3412W no heat" with my smartphone and thumb. One of the first hits was the Appliance Parts Pros website with a list of 8 possible parts that might fix this problem, listed in descending order of likelihood of success. With 3 adults worth of dirty laundry piling up and straining our ability to drip dry, I had to agonize over: 1) buying a new dryer from whatever a local dealer had in stock, then clearing years of valuable junk in... This dryer idler arm pivots from the motor mount bracket to maintain belt tension. Replace if cracked, worn, or binding to restore smooth operation.
I took the tumbler drum out and looked at the pulley and it was not rotating freely. The idler arm had some wear on the attached post so I replaced bothe parts. Since I was in there already I replaced the drum rollers and dryer belt for good measure. I reassembled the dryer and it works great. The best part of the experience was the parts order. I ordered the parts around 3:00 pm one day, standard shipping, and they were on my doorstep around 1:00 pm the next day. I'm still wondering... Read more

After watching the repair video I opened up the dryer without any problems and found that the belt tension pully bearing failed and the mount arm had an excessive amount play in it. So armed with the part numbers I found here I went down to the local parts store and found that they did not stock the parts but could get them in a week. I went home and ordered them on line and had them the next day. I did vary from the video a bit. I uncliped the motor wire connector and removed the two screws... Read more
