Motor hums but won't start? Replace your dryer drive motor to fix startup failure. Moderate DIY repair with video guide. Restores drum rotation.
After watching the how to video twice I decided to embark on dismantling my dryer and attempting to replace my motor. After realizing that the main tool needed was a Phillips screwdriver I was sure I could handle this repair. One by one I took apart the dryer and spread out the parts throughout my mud room. 1.5 hrs later and I have a working dryer, and most of all a happy wife. Thanks for the speedy part delivery and the great how to video. Read more
Dryer won't start or keeps running with door open? The door switch detects door position for safe operation. DIY-friendly repair with video guide.
I am so blessed. I went online. Found the brackets. Watch the video for the brackets I chose. And lucky me. I did not have to pull the dishwasher out. The installer did not have it flush under the counter. So I was able to pull the dishwasher forward unhook the damage brackets and insert the new. Put the dishwasher back in. Two screws. Now the balanced and secure dishwasher washes better than ever and I did not have to pay an extraordinary fee for a repairman. I'm 68 and take care of a 72 year... Read more

When starting my dryer the motor would power up and rotoe the drum and blower. Afetr about 20-30 seconds the igniter would come on then the gas valve would open and I would get heat for about 6 or 7 seconds then it would shut off. I know the burner is suppoed to cycle on and off but once the burner shut off it would not come bqack on unless I shut the dryer off and then back on. Dryer won't heat or keeps running when off? The control board manages all dryer functions. Common fix for no heat issues. Takes 5-10 minutes to install.
My Samsung dryer kept turning even when the unit was powered off and there was no heat as well. I looked it up on Google and it ended up being something within the control panel. I came across the appliance parts pro website and decided to give them a call. I spoke to a gentlemen that confirmed my issue and gave me the correct part number that I needed. When the part came it only took 10 minutes (I never had to open the dryer before, so I took it slow) and a screwdriver. It was good as new! Read more
Dryer won't start or stops after a few seconds? The belt switch detects broken belts and prevents operation. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours.
I researched the issue on You tube and found out it could be either the "belt broke switch" or the Moisture sensor. A friend who was an appliance mechanic advised "since you have to take it all apart anyways, its best to replace the belt, spring, and Idler wheel" I bought the 5 item for $52. I watched the video on the AppliancePartsPros for changing out the belt and I replace all items on the list. Self-tapping screw for dishwashers, dryers, refrigerators, and washers. Replace missing, stripped, or damaged screws for secure panel and component mounting.
The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. BTW it was not the thermal fuse. All the online videos say this is the first thing to look for when the dryer will not start. Be sure to check with the person... Read more
