Well, after I accessed the place where the charcoal filter would be, I found out that there was NO CHARCOAL FILTER AT ALL! No wonder the circulating fan did not take cooking odors out of the room! So your website told me what to order, I ordered it and it was here in no time! So, the microwave was installed by the builder of this house and he never installed the filter. Microwave not heating? The magnetron generates microwave energy for cooking. Common repair when unit runs but won't heat food. Moderate DIY difficulty.
Microwave not heating? A failed high-voltage capacitor prevents the magnetron from working. Requires discharging and wall unit removal to replace.
I ordered the capacitor, diode, and magnetron in hopes that I would be able to complete the repair using the less expensive parts. I first removed the oven from the wall and then I removed the metal housing to access the internal parts. I discharged the capacitor using a pair of insulated needle nose pliers. Then I changed out the diode and the capacitor and reassembled the unit and tested it. It still did not heat so I disassembled the unit again and replaced the magnetron this time.... Read more
