The dryer is a Kenmore Laundry Center, model 417-99570150. Bought in 1998, so it is an older model. Not wanting to buy the newer ones that are out now. We opted to fix the Kenmore. The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts.
