Seals refrigerator door to prevent warm air entry and maintain temperature. Replace if cracked, torn, or doors won't close tightly. Verify fit by model.
I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered. The video online was easy to follow and this... Read more
Creates an airtight seal around your freezer door to maintain consistent temperatures and prevent cold air loss. Replace if torn, cracked, or loose.
Replaced Case Water Filter assembly DA81-05883A. Please read my post entirely before starting. I completed all the tasks that I could without having to disconnect the refrigerator since it was full of food. First I removed the panel on top of the refrigerator that covers the water line that feeds the dispenser. Do not disconnect any electrical connections or the water line at this time. Remove the panel from the back bottom of the refrigerator that covers the compressor and water valve,... Read more
Replacement cap that seals the water filter housing and attaches to filter cartridges. Needed when cap is cracked, broken, or missing notches prevent secure fit.
Replaced filter cap with new one. The minor challenge was to find a method of pulling the filter out of refrigerator (which is normally done by pulling on the filler cap. The filter was recessed to far into the refrigerator for me to be able attach the new cap. I had to find another tactic to remove the filter. The solution was to look at the replacement filter to notice where two slots were located at the end of the filter. I then used a paint can opener (found at most paint stores) to slip... Read more
Refrigerator not cooling or compressor clicking every few minutes? The start device relay often fails, causing short cycling. DIY repair in minutes.
This KitchenAid Refrigerator was put into service in 2007. I thought it died 5 years ago when all it needed was a couple of days to defrost some ice build up in the walls between the freezer and refrigerator sections. At that time we bought a smaller new backup refrigerator thinking we'd also be needing a new main refrigerator, but it was really fine after the thaw out. So we kept it! Then, the other day, it just stopped cooling. I noticed food starting to get soft in the freezer, but the... Read more

Water leaking from bottom of fridge? Cracked evaporator drip tray lets defrost water escape. Moderate DIY repair, about 45-60 minutes with our guide.
The drain pan (Tray-Evaporator Pan) was cracked in 2 places. We had to remove the front panel. Loosen the bracket that holds the water filter. Take off the back panel and disconnect the bracket that holds the selenoid. It was not necessary to unhook the water lines, just the bracket. It was not easy to remove the old pan and get the new one in, but holding the water filter, with the bracket intact, as far to the left side of the refrigerator as possible gave us the room to get the pan in. ... Fix ice not dispensing or motor running but no ice with this refrigerator ice dispenser spring. Essential part for cubed and crushed ice. DIY repair.
The problem was that the motor coupler & shaft had a tiny bit of rust at their union. With the weight of the ice bin it rusted in the lowest position. This didn't allow the motor coupler to float on the shaft. There is a spring inside the shaft that pushes up on the motor coupler keeping it engaged in the ice bin coupler above. This coupler in turn rotates the auger in the bin to dispense the ice. I removed the motor coupler & shaft, tapped the coupler loose and filed off the rust. This allowed... Read more
Secures the handle end cap to the center of your refrigerator door. Replace if missing, stripped, or lost during handle repairs. 8-18 x 1/2 inch size.
This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more
Fix an ice maker that stopped working or leaks water into the bin. This ice mold tray replacement takes about 10-20 minutes with our step-by-step video.
I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Although the problem started off small, it gradually grew much worse, and finally I could see water dripping out of the ice mold and into the bin during the fill cycle. Re-levelling the refrig didn’t help, nor did adjusting the cube size / fill level. With guidance from the video, I removed the icemaker from the wall of the freezer. The... Read more

Refrigerator warm but freezer cold? Noisy evaporator fan? This mounting grommet reduces vibration and noise. Takes about 1 hour to replace with video guide.
I could not be happier with my Appliance Parts Pros experience. I googled my symptoms, and the 2nd result was a video from Appliance Parts Pros describing what the problem might be and exactly how to fix it. There was such a close match between my symptoms and the description that I ordered the parts --- with a 365 day return policy, my risk was limited. Almost too good to be true, the parts arrived next business day! I took it slow (about an hour) to install the new evaporator fan motor,... Read more

Ice dispenser door won't open or ice won't drop? This refrigerator ice dispenser motor powers the chute door mechanism. Moderate DIY repair, 30-45 minutes.
Reviewed the AppliancePartsPros.com site and decided that the most likely suspect was the ice motor. I ordered one and got it FAST! I removed the water ice tray in the bottom of the Ice/water kiosk which exposed two phillips screws which I removed. The front panel came off by lifting upward and unplugging it. The ice door motor was visible near the top of the opening. I removed the hex head screws with a 1/4" nut driver so the ice door assembly was free. The core control board was hidden... Read more
