Ice maker not producing ice or overflowing? This complete ice maker assembly replaces failed units. Easy 15-minute DIY install with video guide included.
My first hour: I investigated first by pulling out refridgerator to see if the water line hose was kinked. I started under the kitchen sink where it begins, coming from faucet water supply. Then I followed it to the back of the fridge to see if anything looked odd. Next I went to the ice maker itself. I investigated the ice maker by removing the freezer food sliding tray and hanging tray, and then unscrewing the door off the slides. When I looked inside at the ice maker, I saw the tube where... Replaces dim, flickering, or burnt-out bulbs in refrigerators, ovens, and microwaves. Restores interior lighting for visibility. Verify fit with model.
I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it... Read more
Replaces broken or cracked endcaps that secure your refrigerator's pantry drawer. Kit includes left and right endcaps for complete repair.
All you need is a nut driver. The end cap is attached to the side of the refrigerator cabinet with two long screws. Once you remove them, you should slide the end cap towards you. It will release the internal clip that holds the front of the end cap. You should then unscrew the metal slider from the end cap. Assembly of the new end cap is the reverse. You should first attach the metal slider to the new end cap. Attaching the new end cap to side of the refrigerator cabinet is a little tricky.... Read more
Fix a refrigerator that stopped making ice with this complete ice maker assembly. DIY-friendly installation takes about 10 minutes with basic tools.
I replaced the icemaker. It was fairly easy, with the most difficult part being access to the icemaker in the bottom freezer. I loosened two screws, removed one additional screw, disconnected the wiring and removed the old icemaker. I mounted the wiring harness and ice level sensor arm from the old unit onto the new icemaker and installed it with no problems. I wish I'd done this months ago instead of repeatedly attempting to repair the old icemaker. Read more
Refrigerator stopped cooling or compressor won't start? The run capacitor provides electrical charge to keep the compressor motor running smoothly.
I have a Kitchen Aid side by side refrigerator/freezer which is 8 years old. One day it just stopped cooling. At first I was just going to junk it and purchase a new one. However, I took off the lower back cover and noticed the compressor was not running. I knew from experience that these compressors need a starter capacitor and relay and it is not uncommon for these parts to fail. I looked on the Internet for a video which showed how to remove the parts. I also found a video which showed how... Read more
Replacement door gasket that seals the refrigerator door to maintain proper temperatures. Replace when torn, cracked, or leaking air. Confirm fit with your model.
I bought new gaskets, which were expensive! At least the repair was easy. Pulled out the old ones, pressed in the new ones. Had to redo them because I didn't notice the little flaps that need to be covering the space in the middle, between the doors. So, pulled them off, and turned them around, and pressed them on again. Maybe 10 minutes? Read more
Horizontal support rail that stabilizes crisper drawers in your refrigerator. Replace if broken, cracked, or missing to prevent drawers from sagging.
No instructions are included with either piece, which makes installation take more time and care. Tools needed: Small standard flat blade screwdriver, box knife or other knife with at least a 2" long blade, super glue. Remove the old main crisper frame: 1. Remove old main frame by lifting upward and outward. 2. Remove the center rail from the frame. May require bending of the main frame to remove it. 3. Remove the crisper front panel by unsnapping from frame. This is easily done by... Read more
Fix a refrigerator that's not cooling or has temperature control issues. This control board manages defrost and cooling cycles. DIY install in 30 minutes.
A bit of research on the internet indicated the most likely problem was with the defrost system. I found the service manual for the refrigerator and was able to determine that the defrost heater and thermostat passed the self test. The refrigerator would perform a forced defrost which resulted in a cold refrigerator. More research revealed that this particular refrigerator does not have a defrost timer, instead the defrost cycle is controlled via the Electronic Control board which is also... Read more
Guides condensation from the defrost cycle to the evaporation pan. Replace if cracked, clogged, or causing water leaks and ice buildup in the freezer.
The drain tube for for the defrost cycle seemed to be blocked, so I googled the repair & it sent me to AppliancePartsPros. Obviously, there's a design problem with this model since many other people have the same issue. This tube is an upgrade on the original for my KitchenAid model (design flaw). Since installation 4 days ago, I have had no leaks - awesome! The video for installation of the new tube on AppliancePartsPros was excellent. Two additions to the video: 1) I used a hair dryer... Front cover for refrigerator pantry drawer with clear plastic window. Replaces cracked, broken, or damaged pantry lids. Snaps onto drawer end caps.
Looked up parts based on fridge model number, watched videos, and replaced parts using just a few tools... easy. Parts came quick, well packaged. After 16 years, plastic parts deteriorate and break. The fridge was operating fine, but the drawers and covers were failing. Much cheaper to replace a few parts ($$-$$$) than buy a new fridge ($$$$). The new parts matched up exactly to old ones. The videos were very helpful, but not perfect... for the Crisper Frame, there was a structural metal... Read more
Fix a fridge that won't cool but runs—clicking or buzzing sounds point to a failed start relay. This part kickstarts your compressor. DIY-friendly repair.

Seals refrigerator or freezer door to maintain temperature and prevent ice buildup. Replace if doors won't stay shut or ice forms. Confirm fit by model.
Door gasket was easy to remove and reinstall. Original gasket was penetrated while cleaning food stuff from folds in the seal below the frig doors. (Gasket is very fragile so don't try to expand the folds while cleaning. I used my finger and a paper towel but in hindsight should have used a Q-Tip. Also, when installing the new gasket you have to be sure the seam folds over the edge of the door and doesn't get caught underneath. Read more
Seals refrigerator door to prevent air leaks and maintain temperature. Replace if torn, warped, or letting warm air in. Confirm fit with model number.
The rubber seal/gasket was torn on our KitchenAid refrigerator right side door. I purchased the replacement and followed the directions/recommendations of how to prepare the new gasket for installation. When it's removed from the shipping box, it does have wrinkles and preparing it is a must. I set it out on our tile floor and then used a heat gun (low setting) to warm it up and massage it. It took me about 15 minutes, stopping and restarting as I let the rubber come back to it's desired shape.... Read more
Interior lights staying on or not working? This door switch controls refrigerator lighting and functions. Moderate DIY repair with video guide available.
I watched the video on replacing the switch on a side freezer where prying out to original switch did not look difficult. I then got on the floor and tried to pry out my switch. Had a terrible time (locking tab or switch body hardened with time?) and mangled the switch terribly and the upper panel of the freezer somewhat, but the switch did come out. AND THEN the top freezer panel with the switch and light assembly fell out into my hands! I was able to unplug one Molex connector and the... Read more
Ice maker stopped making ice or won't eject cubes? A failed motor module is often the cause. DIY repair in under an hour with our video guide.
After finding out the cost that we would have to pay for the repair locally, I went to Appliance parts pro.com. with the intention of finding out the cost for parts. We had been quoted $100 for the first hour which included repair if it could be done under the first hour plus parts. And they added that the typical repair for the ice maker was between $200 and $500. Fortunately we are very organized and had the original paperwork of the refrigerator which has all parts and numbers for the... Read more
Freezer freezing up or fridge running warm? This thermistor monitors temperature to control defrost cycles. DIY repair takes 1-2 hours with basic tools.
Toughest part of this repair is figuring out how to get things apart. Amana doesn't provide you a repair manual showing how to disengage the various plastic covers. Initially disassembled the bottom freezer compartment so I could get to the evaporator coils; they were completely frozen in block of ice, restricting air flow to the fridge above. Obviously, the auto defrost cycle had not been running, or was short-cycling. Manually defrosted. Found this link for running diagnostic tests on the... Read more
