Leak at Kitchenaid dishwasher diverter motor. Dan B. • Wentzville , MO • September 10, 2023
Pulling the dishwasher, it was obvious we had a slow leak under it. We had a slow leak from the diverter motor area in the sump. Sure enough, it looked like the gasket around a shaft had to be the culprit.
The gasket was attached to the sump assembly, or the motor. We took a chance and ordered a new sump assembly for a mere $90 and went for it.
All of the trays had to come out. The lower spray arms. Then the distribution runs to the middle rack arms and upper rack arms. Finally, the original...

Jenn airJDB8000AWS3 dishwasher would not drain Lynden B. • Benicia , CA • December 17, 2019
Dishwasher washer would not drain after hearing glass-like particles during the drain cycle despite trying to clean the cylinder filter. Originally suspected the drain motor was damaged. After watching a video on how to replace the drain pump, I carefully energized the dishwasher (from water and electricity) then removed the dishwasher to take a look. After removal of drain hose from the pump, discovered that drain hose was connected to water inlet assembly which also needed removal to...

Dishwasher not heating. Ben M. • Sacramento , CA • February 18, 2020
Replaced heater element: Once I had the dishwasher out of the cabinet with supply hose, drain hose and electric disconnected, removing the heater element was fast and easy. However, it was confusing that the new heater element had rubber washers on it already, something not mentioned in the product listing, although kinda visible in the photo. I ordered the separate rubber washer parts recommended by Appliance Parts Pros together with the heater element. The separate rubber washers were the...

Dishwasher would not run William H. • Morehead City , NC • February 14, 2015
I found the door switch was not making contact when the door closed. I adjusted it, but then it would not open so the dishwasher would run when the door wasn't closed.
The contacts were too long in the switch so they would bend and stay together when the door opened. The original switch was very poorly made for a very expensive Maytag dishwasher.
The new switch you supplied was much better quality and easily replaced the one that was installed at the factory.
I was a little baffled at the...

F7 e1 error code water not getting hot. David F. • Austin , TX • September 14, 2021
My wife said we have a problem with our dishwasher (Whirlpool WDT920SADE2). The dishes were not getting clean, and the soap dispenser opened, but soap was still dribbled down the inside of the door and on the silverware caddy.
I'm not the handiest guy; it took me several days to go through the trouble-shooting process, watching multiple videos and trying different things. My initial guess was that the soap dispenser was opening too late. (This turned out to be wrong.)
I started off by...

Dishwasher stopped draining water the pump was running (i could hear the noise) but water would not go away Evgueni P. • San Mateo , CA • February 08, 2015
I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. Upon disconnecting the drain and checking its connector I indeed found the round piece totally blocking the hose and acting as a seal. I removed the piece...

Leak from under KitchenAid dishwasher misdiagnosed by technician David B. • Freeport , NY • August 21, 2020
My dishwasher was leaking and I called to have a certified technician come to diagnose the problem. I removed the kick panel from the bottom of the machine. He turned it on and we saw that water was leaking from the bottom. He said I needed a Sump kit but it wasn't in stock. The cost was $170 plus tax and labor cost was another $140. So I talked it over with dad and ordered the Sump kit, the hose clamp and a new diverter motor as mine was yellowed with age. The cost of all these parts and...

Rusty racks crumbling silverware basket obstructed discharge valve clogged mesh on the food grinder Yuriy M. • Mountain View , CA • May 15, 2015
Just replaced the things. Had to reuse old tine rows, rollers, the spray arm, etc., i.e. I removed 'em from the old racks and put on the new ones, but that was piece of cake. Also, I cleaned the food grinder and the discharge valve compartment (thank you very ???? ???? much, Internet), so spray arms around the top rack get enough water pressure now. I didn't have to buy any parts for the latter part of this little repair project, though.

Upper basket rails were falling apart Charles F. • Ashburn , VA • October 05, 2019
While this is a Whirlpool dishwasher, I have the Kenmore Elite version of it. I believe them to be identical for parts. A little background: The first symptom I had of problems was plastic bits from the ball bearing retainer strips in the slides falling out. Then ball bearings falling out. A common problem with this dishwasher. When disassembling the upper basket, some of the gray plastic pieces were very brittle and easily snapped off. So I ended up replacing all of the plastic pieces related...
