I replaced the entire agitator (my appliance agitator could only be replaced in one part not the upper part only). It was super easy but one thing....the video on the website was not helpful because my maytag washer is older and does NOT have a screw down inside the agitator but has one 1/4 inch hex nut on the side down by the base. Good for me though because all I had to do was unscrew the nut, put the new agitator on, tighten the new nut and DONE!! Read more

The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I watched the video that AppliancePartsPros.com has on how to replace the lid and the plastic balls. I removed the lid to get to the two philips head screws to remove that part of the shut-off switch. I took the new switch out of the package and compared it to the old switch. I bought the $6.00 plastic clip that holds the agitator In place while washing and the $10.50 spanner wrench that takes the 2 top nuts off to get to the agitator stem the other tools necessary for the job which are just a couple of things I already had then watched the video on line of how to do the job and then did it the whole thing took about 2 hours plus I took my time and gave both tubs a very good cleaning. Model# MAV7257AWW Maytag Atlantis Washing Machine. Repairs were fairly easy along with the videos appliancepartspros offers on their website. Parts also came with instructions on how to install. Removed agitator, inner washer barrel, and agitator shaft then drained all the water and emulsified oil out of the transmission. Filled the transmission with new oil and then replaced the worn agitator shaft, shaft collar, shaft o-ring and stem sealing system. Read more

Took off the back of the top pushed the switch forward and lifted it out after I unplugged it. Put the new switch in the opposite of how I took it out, plugged in the wires put the back on and finished my laundry. Read more

Removed lid sanded down all rust spots, taped over the printed instructions on the inside of the lid, washed with alcohol and spray painted with appliance white epoxy paint. Replaced the plastic hinge-balls and one of the lid support/bumper grommet. It was actually easier to install the lid than removing it; used a small amount of grease to hold both balls in place, by holding the lid vertical and placing the left side to the inserted ball and then pushing the right side down. We watched the video before we purchased the parts for this project. We wanted to make sure exactly what parts we would need. Thanks for having this information available. We purchased the mounting stem repair kit,,tub bearing kit, 3 new bolt/washers that hold the outer tub in place and the spanner wrench. Cleaned everything...
