I noticed the floor around the dishwasher was starting to get wet and warp the wooden floor. The chopper had gotten out of line and had cut a pinhole into the sump housing and the dishwasher was leaking badly. It was quite easy to repair. Just unhook the drain hose and the wire connectors, twist off the turbidity sensor and waste motor, pull out the shims and the whole assemple comes up and out. The hardest part was pulling the motor off of the assembly, since I wasn't sure if I needed to... Read more

This overfill float and shaft assembly monitors the dishwasher's water level. As the tub fills, the float rises and triggers the float switch to shut off the inlet water, helping prevent overfilling and leaks.
Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. The Float Switch Kit (attached to, and below the float, below and outside the tank) has a folding plastic cover which fastens with plastic clips. If you open the switch kit before removing the... This replacement part is a dishwasher pump and motor assembly. The dishwasher pump and pump motor circulate water through the dishwasher's spray arm. When the spray arms aren't spraying properly, this could mean that it's time for a new pump and motor assembly. Luckily replacing this part is a relatively simple process.Start by making sure the dishwasher is unplugged. After that shut off the water supply going to the dishwasher. Then disconnect the drain line from the garbage disposal or sink drain. Open the dishwasher door and pull out the bottom dish rack. Remove the upper dishrack from its track. Release the spray arm on the bottom of the washer. Then proceed to release the feed tube clips. Using a nut driver remove the bottom access panel and tow panel. Pull them out to remove them. Remove the power cable from the junction box, and disconnect the supply line from the inlet valve. Proceed to pull the dishwasher out of the counter. Tilt the dishwasher on its side and pull the hose from the drain pump. Remove the wire harness from the pump. Disconnect wires from diverter motor and circulation motor. Once complete, proceed to tilt the dishwasher upright and remove the pump and motor assembly from the bottom of the dishwasher. Replace with the new assembly. This replacement part is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand dishwashers.

This replacement wire restores a reliable electrical path between appliance components. Use it to replace a damaged or heat-stressed lead so power or signal can flow correctly for consistent, safe operation.
The dishwasher control panel was acting funny, not showing cycle times. So I pulled the plug and restarted it. Then it gave the E2/F2 code. Some googling turned up some ideas, beginning with checking the wires and voltages. I checked those, and found that the control panel was giving the proper voltage. The next step is to replace the user interface. I found the part on AppliancePartPros.com at a reasonable price. They sent it quickly. It was a fairly straightforward install, but you do... Read more

A bit of searching on the internet narrowed the problem down to either the heating element or the control board. As I am not much of a diagnostician I decided to replace both. Along this same line, I would never have attempted these repairs if it hadn't been for the clear, easy to understand repair videos provided for each part. Further, my decision to do my own repairs was made easier because the prices of the parts was so reasonable. I took my time, reviewed the videos and replaced the... Read more
