Ice Deflector Spring
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR02X11768

The Ice Deflector Spring is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. This spring is a crucial component of the ice dispensing system, specifically in selecting between crushed and whole ice cubes. It is designed to always force the diverter back in a way that the cubes get crushed. Symptoms of a bad Ice Deflector Spring include:

  • The ice dispenser only dispensing whole cubes, even when crushed ice is selected
  • The diverter not returning to the crushed ice configuration
  • Unusual sounds during the ice dispensing process
  • The need for manual intervention to get crushed ice

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Not dispensing ice, making loud noise   Dennis V. • Parker , CO • March 24, 2020

When I took it apart I found that the drive cup was cracked, the helix lock plate hole was reamed out and the ice deflector spring was broken. The biggest problem was the helix had slipped down the shaft and allowed the end of the shaft to bore a hole in the housing which made it a bear to get out. Others have had the same problem. Once I got past that obstacle, it was simple to replace all the parts and it's working like normal again. Very helpful video explaining the repair. Read more

By: Ge
Part Number: WR02X10322

This evaporator fan motor dust cap is an authentic OEM replacement part found on refrigerator and freezer fan motors.
