I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. This was a tricky one to figure out. The Maytag Centennial MVWC400XW4 would fill and wash, then stop before spin cycle or would not complete the spin cycle. We had to manually move the dial to rinse & spin, etc. to get it to finish a load. This technique worked but it definitely became a pain to do and at the time we didn't notice how much longer the machine took calibrating a wash load. Replaced door latch and switch. Parts are plastic so you must know what you are doing to avoid breaking new parts. Videos were hard to find for my model - eventually I found a video that addressed a different problem but required disassembly of a washer cabinet similar to mine. I removed the control panel using a putty knife and unplugged the wire to the latch switch. Then I remove 3 screws securing the washer's top panel to the back panel. I replaced the drive block & leveling feet, it helped a lot but the washer still shakes a lot, I am now going to try replacing the suspension rod kit, These were the most recommended fixes to the problem.The repairs were not too hard, I wish I had a spanner wrench, I couldn't find it on the website. Springs were broken and back bracket was bent I replaced the bracket and all four Springs including the vertical one. I removed the cabinet as shown in the video. Then with a pair of vise grips's removed the springs one by one and replace them. The bracket was rusted And bent i used a quarter inch socket with a quarter inch ratchet to remove the screw. I had a problem with the drain pump on my Kenmore HE3 and I replaced it using a drain pump I ordered from APP. That fixed that problem but once I started running the washer I started getting a FH error code. I looked it up and found that it was a problem with the washer not filling properly.
