Replacement water fill hoses for washing machines. Connect home water supply to washer. Replace when cracked, leaking, or showing rubber wear or corrosion.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more
Fix grinding or scraping noise during agitation with this washer pulsator coupling. Located under the agitator, connects to drive shaft. DIY repair in 10 minutes.
I looked up a YouTube video first to know how to take my washing machine apart. It was an Appliance Parts Pros Video. Very helpful! I replaced the mode shifter, water pump, washers, agitator spline, hub nut, tub bearing, tub seal and drive belt. The hub nut DID NOT want to come off. I cut it off with my Dremel and chipped out the beveled segment with a heavy duty screw driver and 3# hammer. Had to be very careful to not damage the hub assembly. I removed the Torx screws and removed the... Read more

Drive pulley mounts to the washer basket shaft and routes the belt from the motor. Replace if worn, cracked, loose, or showing play on the shaft.
Replaced the shaft & mode shifter assembly. Also replaced the pulley as it had taken some damage from the wobbling clutch dog. And replaced the tub seal since it's normally inaccessible with the shaft in place. This is an advanced repair that took a lot of time. Removing the tub nut took a 1 11/16" socket and a 700 ft-lb impact wrench and I had to hammer on the nut for several minutes to break it free of the tub. Disassembly of the washer is complete, and requires a lot of space for... Read more

1/4-20 x 5/8 hex washer-head machine screw secures brackets, panels, and internal components. Replace worn, stripped, or missing fasteners.
The screw that holds the agitator in place appeared to have worn and rusty threads. I tried to replace it with a standard hardware store 1/4-20 hex head screw but that wouldn't grip. I had thoughts of needing to tap the hole, but eventually bought the specified screw, which is a specialist. It has tapered threads, a shoulder, rubber bushings, an attached washer and a hex head. I spent a lot of time trying other things but when the real part arrived it only took a few minutes to set it in place. ... Read more

Fix washer overflowing or underfilling issues with this water level pressure switch. Senses tub fill and prevents overflow. 15-minute DIY repair.

Fixes washers that won't start, agitate, or spin. This control board manages cycles and user interface. DIY repair typically takes under 1 hour.
A service tech diagnosed the problem as the control board. He ruled out other potential problems. Estimated it would cost close to $300 to fix above the $90 service charge. I figured that I could do it myself and ordered the control board, opened up the back, removed the original board and installed the new one. Took about an hour. Washing machine is working again. Original service call cost and part totaled less than $200. I'm happy. Hope that the machine functions for many more years. Read more
Cushions where the washer lid meets the top panel to soften closure and protect the finish. Replace worn, cracked, or missing bumpers to reduce noise.
The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section. Parts cost around... Read more
