Microwave runs with door open or won't start? This door interlock switch fixes unsafe operation. Most DIYers replace all 3 switches in 30 minutes.
Removed and replaced 3 door switches and mounting bar that holds switches plastic gets brittle with age and each switch comes out slightly different from each other, the chances of breaking a mounting pin is very easy. care should be taken when snapping mounting bar back into place to insure top latch and bottom latch locate properly insure bar is proper aligned when tightening screws their is free play in mounting bracket that could affect door properly engaging switches. I took the advice of another buyer and replaced the magnetron, capacitor, and diode from my microwave (make sure you discharge the capacitor). It was not a problem at all to do, I did find an excellent video on YouTube on how to test all of these components and almost anything else in a microwave. Rotating ring installs beneath the glass turntable in your microwave. Replace if cracked, broken, or rollers are worn out to restore smooth rotation.

Microwave completely dead or showing F1 error code? This oven cavity thermal cutoff sensor prevents overheating. Moderate DIY repair, test with multimeter.
GE Microwave/Convection Oven. Removed case (carefully). Tested in-line power cord fuse with multi-meter. Fuse was good. Noticed a scorch mark on a wire connected to the oven cavity thermal fuse. The fuse appeared to have been overheated from too much movement in it's mount. Removed part from unit and used number on the part to order a new one. Mica cover that protects the waveguide opening inside your microwave. Replace if cracked, burned, torn, or tabs have broken off during normal use.
Replaced the canopy. Took a few trials to install. Once I realized than you slide the part towards the tabs til it stops and then while pushing up towards the roof pull it back under two metal ears it held it self in place. That was the easiest repair ever. Did not need any tools. Read more
