I first replaced the drain hose, as this seemed to be a common problem with LG. The washer continued to leak, I then noticed it was leaking from the valve assembly, inlet. It took 10 minutes and now the washer works fine with no evidence of water. Read more

Took the washer out, turned it over and found the solenoid that worked the drain valve to be melted, and the shaft that the solenoid activates was heavily corroded. I found the right parts on your website after reading the notes left by other customers, then watched the video. The repairs were fairly simple and successful. This was a GE profile dishwasher. Unfortunately my first repair attempt (replacing the Gas Valve Coils) failed so I decided to replace the entire Burner assembly. From a cost/time point of view the Burner assembly is a better value than just buying the Gas Valve seeing as you don't have to disassemble/reassemble most of the existing Burner (to get to the Gas Valve) *and* you get a new Igniter!! Here's what the problem was: Started the 'Normal' cycle... I closed the door... it calls for water, water fills, ECS sensor doesn't kick it to the next segment of the cycle (wash), so the water over-fills and reaches the over-fill sensor. So many other are replacing the plastic 'case-brake,' main board, and the ECS sensor. I removed the kick panel/door and confirmed there was no flame. Inspection with a flashlight revealed the igniter was damage - partly broken away. Using a 1/4" socket set I removed the burner assembly. Inspection showed the burner was rusted and the flame deflector had fallen off. I ordered both the "Dryer Igniter and Bracket" and a burner. First determined drain discharge hose was clear. Turned of power to dishwasher. I did not find it necessary to remove the dishwasher. I simply removed the lower service panel at the floor and was able to easily remove the defective pump, unplug it, replace the small rubber check valve flapper before the pump inlet and reinstall the new pump assembly. Replacing the upper nozzle connector did the trick. I could not see damage in the older upper nozzle, it is possible that I could have fixed this just by tightening the parts - but i am happy I purchased both the upper nozzle and check valve ball, it feels good to have installed brand new parts in the washer. Removing cabinet panels to access burner was the major challenge since every one seems to be different. This one, two screws at back allowed top to raise and be removed, Two more screws at front and two cables disconnected removed control panel. The door panel was not quite as obvious, The two screws at top sides and two at very bottom edge were removed. Then by trial, I removed screws around door edge until panel was loose. Replaced inlet water valve. Simple repair. Removed control panel cover with few screws on back, removed valve with 4 screws, rubber tubing and clamps, disconnected electrical spade plugs. Reversed the above and the new valve is in and works perfectly. No problems. Simple to do, and will save you $$$$. Read more
