Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Due to bad door seal ice built up in bottom of freezer water then leaking out   Christopher K. • Alexandria , VA • July 19, 2016

Door gasket was easy to remove and reinstall. Original gasket was penetrated while cleaning food stuff from folds in the seal below the frig doors. (Gasket is very fragile so don't try to expand the folds while cleaning. I used my finger and a paper towel but in hindsight should have used a Q-Tip. Also, when installing the new gasket you have to be sure the seam folds over the edge of the door and doesn't get caught underneath. Read more

We replaced the black door seal gasket around the front of the dishwasher. The old black seal gasket had begun to deteriorate, every time it was touched black stuff would rub off onto hands and onto utensils in the upper basket. I have used this freezer for ~ 10 years with no problems. We have noticed that frost started forming inside the freezer, so after research, the first step was to replace the gasket around the door. My wife is attached to her old, simple, no bells and whistles dishwasher. When it started leaking from the bottom of the door, I looked up the possible fix and thought the price of the gasket probably out-valued the dishwasher. I thought that it was time to buy a new one.
