No heat Dennis G. • Kearny , NJ • January 14, 2017
I did the recommended checks of parts as listed on the website. I would recommend as one other person did but I did not listen the first time and that is to check all the parts don't stop at the first part you find bad. As I had to make two orders paying shipping twice because I thought I found a bad part when testing the igniter but the thermal fuse was also bad and since in a different part of the machine I did not take the time to check it, bad mistake.
Also one tool mentioned in the video...

My 22 year old dryer just stopped getting hot Michael M. • Brunswick , GA • November 04, 2015
After 22 years my Kenmore (Whirlpool) dryer stopped getting hot.
So I went ahead and reviewed the videos and figured I could repair it myself. It should be noted that the only part that failed the Ohm test was the thermal fuse. However, I figured that since I have it apart, I might as well go ahead and replace the heating element and the cycling thermostat.
Here is a rundown of what I did and how long it took:
• Taking the back off and vacuum <1 minute
• Finding the components (from the...

I am not an electrician, just a housewife with limited funds and a desire to DIY. I used the provided videos for knowing how to replace everything except the heating element which I just guessed based on other reviews and seeing how the other parts worked. Our dryer is 11 years old Whirlpool Gold HE and I have only ever cleaned the lint tray. My husband replaced the belt about five years ago and he did clean out the inside of the dryer.
Started by ordering a thermal fuse because it was...

Samsung dryer model# DV42H5200EW would not heat no error codes otherwise operating normally. James S. • Washington , DC • October 20, 2017
You can do this!
Although an Art Director by trade, I like working with my hands. I’m adept at working with tools and following instructions. In today’s disposable society, I prefer fixing things. That said, this has to be the easiest repair I’ve ever attempted with the largest cost-savings versus hiring a professional.
My brand new dryer had been in use fewer than six months (average 6 loads per week) when suddenly the dryer would not heat. The drum would spin, there were no error codes, and...

11 year old kenmore elite gas drye stopped working initial diagnosis: burner would light but would shut off in 3 or 4 minutes Jay W. • Dallas , TX • April 05, 2015
I used Fixya as an initial source describing my problem. I got two responses which were very helpful. One that the "coils" were probably the problem. Two, that the problem could be the thermostat or a thermistor in the dryer. I verified that AC was coming from the timing control, that both the two terminal and three terminal coils, the igniter and shut off thermostat all had continuity. I then applied AC directly to the coils: the two terminal coil ""clanked" and I interpreted that as the coil...

Old Whirlpool dryer model LE8650XWW0 would not heat purchase in 1993. Byron V. • Huntsville , AL • December 08, 2017
Since the dryer was 24 years old I opted to replace all the possible problem components, instead of just the bad one. The parts aren't that expensive and do to their age I figured it was worth it to avoid having to go back into the dryer in a few months. The repair was surprisingly easy and went pretty much as the video instruction AppliancePartPros provided with one exception. Because, my model was much older than that used in the video, I had a more difficult time replacing the Heating...

The dryer did not heat! Linda R. • La Jolla , CA • November 30, 2014
My appliance repair guy checked out the problem, but the stack washer dryer required the contractor to dismantle the cabinet to allow the repair to occur. So i wanted the parts available for the repair, so we would not have to have the dryer pulled apart in a small space for an extended time i ordered the parts on Friday afternoon and they arrived at my home before noon on Saturday! The contractor and the repairman were able to coordinate the repair on Tuesday morning, and though the...

Worn bearing and felt causing dryer drum to rattle and creek Bay S. • Bothell , WA • January 05, 2016
Recommendations have fun and a bucket to prevent losing parts. First watch the videos, practice disassemble and reassemble the dryer drum. Make certain you have a good screw driver and spatula from kitchen (could not find my putty knife). Secondly, clean and inspect everything, make sure the motor bearing and belt pulleys are in good condition with little or no play. Third after you have confidently disassembled, vacuum cleaned, inspected all the worn parts, grease the motor and pulley,...

Le error code Phil S. • Sumas , WA • February 06, 2016
I watched the Appliance Parts Pro video and saw that it was a job that I could easily do. I ordered the Rotor Position sensor switch for about $21 on a Monday and it was delivered by UPS on Wednesday. The process was straight forward: 1) remove the back cover from the washing machine (4 screws), 2) remove the main bolt holding the magnetic drum on the motor; 3) remove the 6 bolts holding the coil on the motor; 4) remove the ground screw and wire harness clamp screw; 5) take the old sensor...

High temperature thermostat went bad after running self clean function John V. • Longmont , CO • September 09, 2014
Did some Google searches and most comments concerning this issue on LG stoves indicated the high temperature thermostat malfunctions when using the self cleaning function. This malfunction causes complete loss of power for the entire stove and locks the oven door. Since I wasn't completely sure if it was the thermostat or where it was for that matter, I called a service tech to troubleshoot the stove. He was able to determine it was the thermostat and further tested his findings by...

The GE Advantium Oven completely shut down. No lights, no sign of life at all. Denny E. • Waynesboro , VA • March 14, 2014
I read on line about other such ovens doing the same thing mine was doing, absolutely nothing!
I even read stories of a major retailer telling customers to throw the microwave away. There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. The shipping cost more than the part, but it was all very worthwhile.
