Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud noise during spin cycle   John N. • Beaufort , SC • January 16, 2017

Replaced washer drive block and Cam. I called around and finally settled on Appliance Parts Pros because they helped diagnose the problem, told me what parts to replace and had videos to show me how to do it. In completing the repair I had to remove quite a few pieces of hardware in order to get at the part I was to replace. The videos helped but there is a learning curve while you familiarize yourself with the parts and figure out how the remove them. Eventually I got to a large nut that,... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Main tub would not spin but agitator plate would made unusual grinding sound during spin cycle.   Stephen H. • Shelbyville , MI • April 11, 2020

I watched a video on YouTube that showed my exact problem. It had a link to this part AP5665171 Hub and it showed how to fix it. It was a fairly simple fix. I did not even have to remove the tub. I popped the cap on top of the agitator plate (AGP), removed the bolt hold the AGP on. I tapped on the bolt several time to loosen it. Using an angled screw driver, carefully and slowly lifted up the edges of the AGP until I could use my fingers to carefully pull the AGP off the splined drive... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bad bearings on Whirlpool Cabrio washer   Fred B. • New Braunfels , TX • October 30, 2018

After ignoring for a couple of years that the bearings were bad on our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and just closing the door to the laundry room, it started slinging grease underneath during the spin cycle. Knowing that the cost to call out a repairman would be close to the cost of a new washer, I decided that it would be a nice Saturday project after reviewing AppliancePartsPros’ repair video. The bearing & tub seal kit and bearing installation tool arrived in two days. I’ve done a lot of... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water tank leak   Gordon T. • Jonesboro , AR • January 27, 2017

Our refrigerator takes care of my wife and I, along with our children when they visit, and the grand kids. Over the years, it's seen its fair share of wear and tear. Thankfully, nothing major has happened that hasn't been able to be repaired right here in the home, and by me. Our refrigerator is a GE side-by-side with an ice maker/water dispenser, and has held up well. I've ordered parts for it from AppliancePartsPros.com for all of its repairs, and while GE/Frigidaire have been changing out a... Read more

We watched the videos posted on AppliancePartsPros.com website several times before starting the work. Once we were confident of the process, we jumped in with the complete disassembly of the washing machine's drum rotating assembly...everything that touched the drum or made it rotate. My son and I disassembled and inspected each part for wear/damage and ordered replacement parts based on condition. The parts came in within 3 days of ordering. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Whirlpool washing machine wouldn't spin   M David M. • Pittsburgh , PA • March 17, 2016

I ordered what I thought were the necessary parts from appliancepartspro.com as my washing machine wouldn't spin. I should have watched there videos before I began as I took the whole cabinet off and everything and after receiving the parts and watching their video realized I didn't need to do so, at that point in time. When I put the pieces back together I found that the tub was really stuck, it would move but for the most part it was hard to move and creating a horrible noise. I knew I... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I had a leak at the water inlet valve   Nicholas C. • Wildwood , MO • May 15, 2020

I had a slow leak at the water inlet valve where the water line from the filter assembly connected to the water inlet valve. I determine that the water line had scratches in it which caused it to not seal. Had to buy the entire reservoir and filter assembly to get that water line. The replacement was smooth. It took about 30 minutes to swap out and it fixed the leak. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water tank assembly leaking   Mark Y. • Ballinger , TX • August 22, 2016

Replaced tank assembly. Actually I think the supply hose was originally not fully seated in the tank and I think I could have re-seated it deeper through the gray bushing. When I set the line into the new tank, still leaking. Pulled out supply line and reset using a little more force and line went into the tank. Took the bushing clip off the other tank and used it for the supply line bushing. So far, no leaks. The thing to remember is to push the edges of each hose bushing inward to pull... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water dispenser made a lot of noise   Pablo C. • Apex , NC • November 23, 2015

Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose. For the not-so-experts like me it is also good to rememebr to have a bucket to collect all the water that comes out after the connection to the solenoid valves is... Read more

After watching installation videos on each felt I could pull it off and ordered and received replacement water reservoir and water dispenser tube assembly. Reservoir installation went off without a hitch outside of the added step of the need to remove the entire main in waterline assy in order to access the connectors which also were not as represented in video, in that they were not the press-to-release type but standard threaded compression types. I replaced the supply line to the fridge - no change in taste. I replaced the MWF manifold and tubes, the water inlet valve and the water storage line. That did it, good tasting water again! The ice still has a bad taste, so I'll replace the supply tube from the valve to the ice maker. Overall, replacing these parts was easy and the videos from Appliance Parts Pros helped. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Washer would not spin nor adgitate   Jeff A. • Stow , OH • June 28, 2015

Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more
