Replacing the heating element wasn't difficult. I searched youtube to see if there was a video on how to do it just to be sure I felt comfortable doing it myself.
The glass top is held on by 3 screws along the front. After removing those, you can slide the top forward and up. I used a short 2x4 to hold the top up while I worked.
The elements are held on with brackets. There is one screw on each end of the bracket. I removed those and laid it down on the insulation. The heating elements are held in with clips. You will need those clips to install the new one. So don't break them when removing them. Each clip has one screw holding them on the element. Make note of the placement number of the clips.
As others have mentioned. Keep track of what wire went to which wire lead. 1a,2a,1b,1b. The replacement part had the leads in different places. But they are marked.
When putting back together I had to move the clips one number over because the wires are just long enough to reach the element.
I did need a second set of hands to reattach the element bracket. Other than that, I was able to do this on my own.
