The Lower Door Gasket is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It forms a seal around the bottom of the dishwasher door to prevent leaks and contain heat, moisture, and harsh detergent within the wash chamber.
Causes of a bad gasket can include cracking, warping or tearing of the rubber seal over multiple usage cycles and exposure to hot washing conditions.
Symptoms of a bad lower door gasket include:
- Puddles or pools of water around the base of the dishwasher
- Standing water inside nearby cabinets or on the floor
- An ineffective or steamy seal around the dishwasher door
- Visible cracks, holes, or deformation of the gasket material
This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
