Symptoms of a bad Main Control Board include:

  • The dishwasher not starting or completing cycles

For Frigidaire Main Control Board (Part Number: OEM18981690)

1 Answer

Carl, With only the one cycle illuminating then this will likely be an issue with the touchpad on the unit.

Vicki, With the display going to 99+ minutes and at times turning off completely while in a cycle, this would most likely be a control board issue.

Alex for Model Number PLD4375RFC3 Frigidaire Dishwasher

Hi , I have a PLD4375RFC3 Frigidaire Dishwasher. It stopped working. Display is showing time for different cycles and buttons/lightssamitize/drying are functioning. No reaction of delay button (usually it shows number of hours for delay) Start button - normally after pressing, it shows time of a chosen programm and CL - for example 93CL. After closing of the door the cycle is initiated. Now when start is pressed no CL is showed, i.e. only time is displayed. So this is not a door switch. No failure messages. The water/service test cannot be initiated. I would appreicate any advice. Control board?? Thank you. Regards Alex

Alex, It does sound as if the control may be the issue but there are also indications of the user interface. Check the connection between the two and attempt the diagnostics again and then you may need to replace the board. 5304514670

Robin for Model Number Frigidaire DW model FGID2474QF3B

My dishwasher will not complete any cycles; it usually just continues to run by rinsing and heating or simply stops without completion. Occasionally it throws error codes i40 and i20. The drain and filters are clear. It will not reset at the push-button controls so I've master reset at the breaker several times. At times the lights on the keypad will not come on and also the keypad controls at times will not respond to anything (unless I perform another master reset by cycling the breaker). The DW is 4-1/2 years old. It seems to me that this issue is most likely the control board. Is that correct or should I be looking at something else?

Jim, the heater could be drawing too much amperage and can be tested for resistance. The heater 154825001 should read 16 ohms of resistance. If the heater tests good, and the circuit breaker is not tripping, you may want to check the wiring connection at the terminal housing. If the wire connections are secured properly, then the failure would be with the control board 5304514670.

Ben, with the power turned off to the unit, you may want to inspect the terminal box to ensure that the wire connections are not loose. Commonly what can happen is the wires are not fully secured or improperly set and over time an intermittent gap can occur from vibration. If the wires check good in the terminal box, then the most likely issue would indeed be with the control board 5304514670.

Dan, we would not have the resistance value of the resistor on the control. The image found in connection to the part is what we would have available.

Ron, No, you don't need the control board, at this point. The control will extend or shorten the cycles, based on water temperature and turbidity of the water. Make sure the water temperature in the tub, on the first fill of the cycle is at least 120 dgr.F. Check the wires and connections at the turbidity sensor 154762601 / 154762601 Sensor, turbidity, snap-in, w/seal in the bottom of the wash pump/sump assembly, you want to remove the sensor and check the upper portion for sediment, debris and deposits. Also check or replace the detergent and rinse aid, they may be producing suds/foam during the cycle and causing the control to extend the cycle as well. If all's OK, then replace the control board.
