The Clock is an OEM part for Frigidaire ovens and ranges. It is the central electronic component that regulates and monitors oven functions such as bake, broil, convection, temperature controls, and timers.

Causes can be failures in the integrated circuitry, damaged connectors or traces on the board, or water or other environmental damage over time.

Symptoms of a clock include:

  • Failure of oven elements to heat properly
  • Unresponsive or inaccurate temperature displays
  • Irregular timed baking or errors flashing
  • Problems with convection or baking modes
  • Power issues such as the oven not turning on

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

For Frigidaire Clock (Part Number: OEM20678097)

D Upchurch for Model Number FC5388CESE NF91414631 Frigidaire Gallery Dual Range

My oven recently went out. I noticed the clock was not working and then discovered that the oven was not working either. The gas stove top works fine and the oven light comes on. We had a repair man tell us we need a new clock because it was the brains to the oven. He quoted us 500.00 to fix the oven. I am wondering if the part you sell Part number AP3956392 316455400 which cost 98.65 is the part we need?

Hi Kia. Remove the power. Remove the oven racks. Use a flashlight and look at the bake element part # 316075103. Look at the broil element part # 316203200 to see if they burned up on the outside diameter of the element. It will create a "run" and scroll burning the element. Make sure when you replace the element that you have tight electrical connections. when the element wires are pushed back into the oven cavity you replace the insulation around the wires so inner heat does not escape through the holes burning up wires. Thank You.

Hello, I'm also having an issue with my range. Judging by other questions already answered, I may need this control board, but my volt meter test doesn't seem to think this is the issue? Currently the stove top works, but the oven won't heat up when trying to bake or broil. The 240 volt line is fine, checked it at the plug. I can hear the relays clicking on/off while the unit is turned on, but still no heat. Using a volt meter, I have power going to the "Bake" terminal listed on the control board, but it seems like it's 120 volts. There is also power at the wires connected to the elements, also 120 volts. Checked the elements using the volt meter and they test to be fine/working. Does all of this still sound like the issue is with item # AP3956392? Should it be replaced or something else?

Hello Matt, The test procedure that is the easiest to determine the component at fault is rather dangerous, but works great. The way I do it is unplug the unit and open the control panel so I can access the wiring to the control. Find the one for bake. Unplug this wire and set it so it cannot touch anything. Now you have to test to this wire also with your test meter without touching it and getting shocked so try to lay it so it is against the wiring harness. I like to use a wire tie or electrical tape to secure it so it cannot drop and contact ground or another wire and cause damage to the harness. Now you're ready to begin. Plug the unit in and set the control to bake. Using the units' chassis as the test reference point, look for the 120Vac on the wire you disconnected and on the terminal you disconnected it from. Once you have determined which has no voltage, unplug the unit. Now for the explanation. If the bake terminal has no voltage on it during the test, the relay on the board is not passing the second leg of voltage. If the wire you disconnected from the terminal is the one with no voltage, the bake element has failed or there is a thermal fuse in the circuit that has opened. You see, the bake element has 120Vac riding on it at all times the power is supplied to the unit. The only time voltage is on the bake terminal is when the control energizes the relay and the relay passes the second 120V leg. When you test the unit with the wires hooked up, there is no way to tell whether you lost L1 or L2. This makes the repair very difficult. By removing the wire, you know which leg you have lost and you can use this information to pinpoint the issue.

Hello Terry, It isn't hard at all. It's glued on with a sticky stuff that doesn't solidify. All you have to do is use a kitchen knife or similar item to get under it and remove it slowly and evenly to prevent creasing the overlay. It can then be positioned on the new control and installed.

Hello Sam. Turn on the bake cycle and test for 120 volts coming from the clock to the element. If there is no power there, replace the clock 5304518660 on the unit.

Hello Joey, The surface is completely separate circuits after the wiring passes the terminal block where the power connects to the unit. If the complete unit is experiencing an issue, you should probably start at the breaker, receptacle, and power cord/terminal block.

The temp control buttons wouldnt work because of the clasp on all corners of bracket had basically snapped off not holding it tight to oven. We temperarily held on with tape to use until we could get a new one ordered (was told to do so by a repairman). Well when I did so we plugged it and went to use then it sparked and now still wont at all. Will the range control clock panel fix the problem if so what all do I need do I need a new face piece also. We have the black n crome one.

Hello Eric, This sounds like you either have a shorted wire or a stuck relay on the board 5304518660. I would kill the power to the unit and remove the back. Look at all of the wires and move them around a bit to insure no wires have shorted to ground. If not, replace the clock assembly.
