Mik February 16, 2015 for Model Number PSS26NGPACC Have a side by side refrigerator. The refrigerator is registering anywhere from 26 to 32 degrees instead of the recommended 37. Freezer is doing ok. Is this a mother board issue or something else? In October the whole unit quit cooling and had a repairman replace mother board with a refurbished one. Now 4 months later this problem. Help! Thanks
1 Answer Hello Mik, You will need to check the defrost heater since it is the most common failure on this design. If it tests good with no frost build-up on the evaporator coils and the evaporator fan motor is running up to speed, you will need to check the damper for a frost build-up preventing air flow to the fresh food compartment. Don't forget to check the air return to the freezer compartment at the bottom of the fresh food compartment. Remember if frost is located in the damper area, the usual cause is a air leak at the ice dispense door or around one of the door seals. Read More...
Cesar Q. February 02, 2015 for Model Number GSL25JFTABS I want to buy the mother board for this model, in the motherboard there's a label WKKT 1304-00-000. I want to know if this part fits my needs for replacement. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Cesar! According to the model number given the main control board part number WR55X10942C is the correct replacement listed for your appliance. Thanks! Read More...
Mike February 02, 2015 for Model Number PSC 23MSW Freezer temp fluctuates between 0 and minus 9 while the refrigerator runs at normal 37 degrees. I replaced the main control board, defrost thermostat and the temp sensor next to the defrost thermostat. I'm at a loss, what can I do to regulate the freezer at the recommended 0 setting? Thanks Mike
1 Answer Mike, There is another temperature sensor in your freezer compartment that might be faulty. The sensor that you replaced was for the defrost which would not have anything to do with temp dropping to -9. The resistance for your sensor at 0 degrees should be 42.2K ohms of resistance. Matthew J January 28, 2015 for Model Number gsl25kgrebs I have a clicking noise coming from back of my fridge.
1 Answer Matthew, If the clicking noise is coming from the back of the unit and the unit is not cooling properly then the control board will be bad and need to be replaced. Read More...
Mike January 24, 2015 for Model Number GE GSL25IGRB BS The freezer side will not get below 29°F. The fan is running and there is ice build up on the back wall where the seams come together? Would this be a main board problem and if so what would be needed? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Mike, If this is an ice ball at the point where the Freon lines enter the freezer compartment through the wall, the problem will either be a sealed system restriction or a Freon loss. This sort of issue will have to be corrected by a Freon authorized servicer. Read More...
Kristie January 20, 2015 for Model Number GSH25JSTASS My side by side refrigerator stopped running all together is warm and not making any noise and fan is not blowing. The control panel on front of freezer won't work either to do water/ice or change temperatures. Was told it could be the control board. Could it be something else too?
1 Answer Hello Kristie, The starting place on this is the wall outlet. You can plug a lamp or other electrical device into the wall outlet to see if it works. If power is there, I would go to the main control and check for 120Vac at the J-11 terminal. If the voltage is not there, there is an issue with the power cord. If it is there, check for 13Vdc on the J4-2 terminal to ground. If there, check for the same voltage on the J4-2 terminal to J4-1 which is neutral. A lack of this output in either case denotes a failed control board WR55X10942C. Read More...
Louis January 11, 2015 for Model Number PTS25LBMARWW We have a GE Profile Arctica top-freezer refrigerator that was working fine. We emptied and unplugged it when we went out of town. When we returned I plugged it in and we only get the dome lights. I do not hear the compressor or the freezer fan running. Also the temperature control lights do not come on. Is this consistent with needing a new mother board? I am confused because it worked fine until we unplugged it. Thanks.
1 Answer Louis, If the dials are in the on position and the unit is not running then yes this would be an indication that the main board is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Lg January 10, 2015 for Model Number GSL25JFTFBS Our freezer on our GE side by side has everything covered in frost lots of frost and ice. Temp is set fine. Ice won't dispense and is in a big clump. Seems to be keeping everything frozen.
1 Answer LG, The most likely cause for this issue would be that the unit, when coming out of defrost, the fan is coming on before it is completed. This would be an issue with the main control board which is part number WR55X10942C. Read More...
Danny January 10, 2015 for Model Number PSC23NGNABB I purchased a mother board from you for my frig because it was not freezing, just staying cold. I changed the board out but it is still the same. What else can I do?
1 Answer Danny, You will want to check the frost pattern on the coils of your freezer compartment. If the coils have just a couple of lines that have frost on them then you have an issue with either a sealed system leak or a restriction. Read More...
