Chris Riggs June 12, 2020 for Model Number GFW480SPK0RR The repair guy said the shocks are bad. I did a load of towels on old shocks still. I went back to put them in the dryer and they were bone dry. Ran out again and still bone dry. Ran it 2 more times and bone dry. Would shocks that have failed cause the washer to not run a cycle? It goes through the load sense cycle at the beginning. The drum never spins when on a good cycle the drum does spin in the load sense cycle. Thoughts?
1 Answer Chris, The shocks would not cause this unit to allow the clothes to be completely dry when the cycle is finished. The unit does not appear to fill with water so checking the water valves would be the first step in the process. Also, check to make sure that there is the power to the valve. Read More...
Mannt February 17, 2020 for Model Number WCVH6400J1WW During the final spin, there's a banging on the left side of the washing machine. I replaced the 2 springs on top with no change. I noticed when I had the top off that it was very easy to push down on the tub. If the shock absorbers are end of their life, is there a way to see if the shock absorbers are bad by pushing down on the tub?
1 Answer Hello Mannt, Before suspecting the shocks you should remove the rear panel and check for loose hanging hoses, wiring harnesses, or anything that could have come out of its' retainer and is able to contact the side of the machine during the spin cycle. At his point, you can inspect the shocks for any signs of damage. Normally, if there is a shock issue, damage can be seen during inspection of the parts. Read More...
Don February 25, 2018 Was thinking my GE washing machine shock absorbers needed to be replaced WH01X10343. I have the large capacity front loading washing machine. I cannot do large loads as the clothes are sopping wet when the cycle is done. If I do small loads, it spins out all the water. Does this sound like a shock absorber problem?
1 Answer Hello Don. It is possible that they are bad. However, we will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...

Kary January 19, 2018 for Model Number GE WASHER WBVH 5200 J1WW My front load GE was making an unusual noise while spinning a one trouser load. I stopped it and upon opening the door white to grey colored smoke poured out. Following your video I began a tear down to determine the cause. i determined the front gasket was worn and part was pulled off and part stuck to the inner drum. I know I need to replace this item. In searching the internet it seems like the rear bearing is the culprit that causes this. However, in reviewing all available schematics I can not find any reference to a bearing on this model. I have turned the drum feeling for any resistance or wobble and there is none. I also saw a video on inner spinner problems and did the suggested tests without finding a problem. Have I missed something?
1 Answer Kary, This bearings for this unit can only be gotten with the outer rear tub. For this issue you will want to visually inspect the spider at the back of the inner drum. Read More...
Jeff March 30, 2017 for Model Number WCVH6600H0BB How can I test individual shocks, I don't want to replace all them if only two are bad.
1 Answer Jeff, If one shock is bad then all will most likely be bad but if you push down on the tub it should spring back up which would mean they are good. Read More...
Mike January 12, 2017 it seems like my washer model #wcvh6800j1ww has alot of excessive side to side tub movement . how much is normal ? I am able to run an empty load and the machine seems to act perfectly normal however even with a small load seems to "bang" around alot and have alot of side to side movement. I have taken of the rear shocks and not sure how firm or not firm they are to be?
1 Answer Mike, If you push down on the tub and it bounces back up then the shocks are fine with the unit. If the shocks check ok then it could be a issue of the tub support being broken on the inner tub. Read More...
Iván August 11, 2016 for Model Number WJSR4160G0WW I did see in Your page "Question & Answers", a similar of the existing problem in my Washer Machine (GE HydroWave Quiet Wash System) and now I am aware that the problem is in the Shaft Assembly. I want to buy the part Nr.: WH38X10017. My question is: if That part fits to the Washer Machine , model WJSR4160GWW (Series : RR110389G) ? Thank you for Your help.
Chris December 26, 2015 for Model Number WCVH6260HWW Runs perfect when there is not a load in but if I try to wash anything it seems to be off balance and whole tub bounces around on spin. Took lower panel off and appears the back left shock has more movement then the rest. Could a shock cause the washer to bounce around like its coming apart ?
1 Answer Chris, It would be more likely that the tub support of the inner tub may be damaged causing the unit to get off balance when there is a load in it. You will want to check the shocks and the balance ring on the unit. Read More...
Rod V. October 25, 2015 for Model Number WCVH6800JWW Sometimes when washer is in the spin cycle it becomes unbalanced and there is a loud banging noise and you can see something hitting on the left side of the washer for the inside.
1 Answer Hello Rod. Based on the information you provided, you will need to order the inner basket WH45X10142 and the rear outer tub WH45X10071 to repair the unit. It sounds like the bearings may have failed in the unit. Read More...
