The Drive Belt is an OEM part for GE washing machines. It functions as a critical component that connects the motor to the drum, transferring power from the motor, which in turn allows the drum to spin during the wash cycle. Made from rubber reinforced with fibers, this belt is designed to withstand the stress of spinning and agitating motions.

Symptoms of a bad Drive Belt include:

  • The washing machine drum not spinning,
  • A squealing or screeching sound when the washer is running,
  • Visible fraying, glazing, or signs of wear on the belt,
  • The belt slipping off the motor or drum pulley.

Causes of drive belt failure typically include regular wear and tear from use, overloading of the washer which puts extra strain on the belt, or exposure to oils and other substances that can degrade the rubber.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Drive Belt (Part Number: OEM6133785)

Hello Kimberly. Check and see if the belt is burnt on the unit. If not, you will need to turn the pulley by hand and see if you can manually spin the tub assembly. If it will not spin, you have a bad bearing/transmission in the unit.

Hello Sire, You will want to check to make sure that the motor WH20X10019 is running and that the belt is not broken WH1X2026. Since the pump is a separate part the unit will drain without agitation or spin.

Hello Eddie, This issue sounds like either a agitator coupling or bad transmission.

Shonnie P

we have a roper. day before we smelled something like it was burning when it was spinning at the end of the cycle. last night we put a load in and it filled but did nothing else. this morning the washer would not come on at all. well it would make a noise like a hmmm but in a minute it quit that also. is it the motor to the washer or is it the belt. i did not have the model number, but could get it. yesterday we went ahead and washed a load of clothes but all of the water did not spin out.

Shonnie, Since this is a "Roper" washer, it's probably a "direct drive" washer, it would not have a belt. The issue could be an article stuck in the pump, bad timer or faulty motor. We'll need a proper model number from the serial tag, in order to assist and advise you properly. Thanks

JJ, you most likely have a slipping belt. Remove the front panel, loosen the four motor mount bolts and slide the motor towards the center and remove and check the belt for excessive "glazing" and slippage, grasp the transmission drive pulley, and turn it several revolutioons in each direction. It shoukld be relatively easy, If so, replace and adjust the new belt WH1X2026 . Thanks

Hi Donna. Check the belt for burnt spots or cracks. If it needs replaced then it is part # WH1X2026. We will need your model # to help correctly further. Make sure the pump, and hoses are not clogged. Thank you.

Hello Greg. There are several possibilities in this case. First, there could be an item of clothing between the tubs. Second, the motor WH20X10063 could be shorted internally. The last thing I can think of is the spin bearing WH2X1198 could be seizing up, in which case the tub seal WH02X10383 should also be replaced. I hope this helps you solve your problem and have a great day!
