The Fine Filter is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It is designed to trap food particles and debris during the wash cycle, preventing them from recirculating onto the dishes and ensuring clean, spotless results.

Causes of a bad fine filter can include clogs from food particles, damage from sharp objects, or wear and tear over time. A compromised filter can lead to poor cleaning performance and potentially damage other components by allowing debris to circulate.

Symptoms of a bad Fine Filter include:

  • Poor cleaning results with food particles left on dishes
  • Increased noise during operation
  • Water drainage issues
  • Visible damage or clogging in the filter

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Fine Filter (Part Number: OEM11382978)

Angela for Model Number PDW7300G00WW

Our dishwasher has stopped cleaning and the detergent just collects and dries. The heating element is still working. Afte taking the arms off and cleaning them, I took the Filter Fine Assembly off to clean it. While doing so, it appears that there is calcium or residue inside the part underneath the vinyl-like filters. Could this be causing the arms to not be getting enough pressure and therefore not spinning, and therefore not cleaning our dishes? The build-up in all of the arms and Filter Fine is a very strange matter. I first thought it was detergent but now wonder if it calcium. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to get all three arms to move and clean the Filter Fine Assembly?

Hello Angela. It is very unlikely to cause that issue. If the float is good and clean, I would suggest replacing the water valve to get the correct amount of water into the unit to spray properly.

Bob B for Model Number DRYER

I have another question about the clothes dryer and about a side by side fridge. The dryer selection knob broke because it is hard to turn. Must turn with vice grips. Is this because the timer selection needs replaced? Also my question about the fridge is , i have a side by side fridge in the garage, we live in n.E. Ohio where it is cold. I noticed the freezer was no longer freezing but fridge is fine. Is this due to the cold weather or is the freeze broke. My son said he has the same problem and said it was due to the cold in the garage. Is he correct? Thank you dryer model dbxr463eg6ww

Hello Bod, If you are having to turn the timer knob on the dryer with vice grips you will need to replace the timer. On the refrigerator the unit is designed to operate in temps between 55 and 100 degrees ambient temp. If it goes outside if this range it will not work properly. The cold is causing freezer to not operate but it is cold enough ambient to keep refrigerator cold enough to not have to run.

Hello Bob, This is most times caused by a low water fill. The unit should fill to within 1/2 inch of the bottom of the heating element. If you are not filling enough, the water inlet valve is the most likely cause. You should ensure the unit is installed in a level position for proper water fill. If the unit is filling satisfactorily, the issue will be due to poor water circulation. This can be due to stopped up screens and spray arms, foreign matter in the circulation pump impeller or a defective circulation pump. When loading the unit, you should ensure that all spray arms can move freely without hitting any of the loaded items.

Hello Kevin, You will want to check your middle spray arm for cracks and clogs. If the holes are clogging up this will cause the spray arm not to turn properly and spray water properly.

Hello Dante, Sounds like you are either using a cheap detergent or there is a heating circuit failure.

Hi Dan. You are exactly correct about your issue. Check the drain hose to see if it is looped and mounted at the top, back of the sink. Then taught to the sink drain. This will create a p-trap and not allow sink back flow. There is a flapper valve inserted at the end of the pump, part # WD01X10175. It will prevent back flow which is common. Scrape off the big stuff before loading and use dishwasher magic monthly. Part # TJ104. The filter can have a split screen allowing incoming debris's. Part # WD12X10109. Run the sink hot water while loading so you can get a fresh hot fill. Thank You.

Hello Raj. Here are the instructions from the manufacture. Hope this helps. Circulation System The circulation system consists of the following components: • Inlet Cover • Fine filter and sump filter • Sump • Circulation pump • Hub • Lower spray arm • Main conduit • Middle spray arm • Upper Spray arm The inlet cover prevents large particles from entering the sump. The fine filter (metal) and sump filter (plastic) prevent fine particles from entering the circulation-pump part of the sump (water entering the drain pump is not filtered by the fine filter or by the sump filter). The circulation pump is controlled by the control module and can be activated using service mode. The pump pushes water up through the hub to the lower spray arm and to the main conduit. The main conduit supplies water to the middle and upper spray arms. Inlet Cover Caution: Use care to avoid breaking the clip on the hub when removing the main conduit from hub. Remove the lower wash arm and main conduit to gain access to the inlet cover and sump. Fine Filter, Sump Filter, and Sump The dishwasher must be removed from its installation to gain access to the sump. The sump must be removed to allow removal of the fine filter and sump filter. Circulation Pump Note: It is extremely important that the self-tapping ground-wire screw on the circulation pump is tightened securely. The dishwasher must be removed from its installation to gain access to the circulation pump. The circulation pump can be activated using service mode (refer to the Service Mode chapter). Refer to schematic or strip circuit for motor resistance value. Lower Wash Arm Lift and rotate (ccw) the lower spray arm to remove it from the hub. Clean the screen on the water return if necessary.
