Sam E. December 23, 2013 for Model Number LDF6810ST I am also having the fault code LE during the wash cycle. I have looked for broken wires and Ohmed out the white, blue and light blue wires going to the pump motor. Between the blue and light blue wires I read 16 ohms. Between the blue and white, reads open, between the light blue and white also reads open. These would be the three large pins on the motor. I have also read this at the motor after having removed the motor for access. On a new motor that you guys sale, what readings are you getting between the three large pins on the motor? I am not concerned about the four small pins that appear to be going to a hall effect sensor.
1 Answer Hello Sam, The service manual says to follow this procedure: 1. Check the wiring connections to the motor. 2. The Impeller of the Washing Pump is possibly locked. Correct the cause of the restriction OR Replace the Washing Motor. 3. The Blade is locked. Remove what is binding. 4. Replace the PCB. The motor replacement corrects the majority of these complaints. Evan May 23, 2013 for Model Number LDF7810 Follow-up to my prior question about loud noise during wash cycle. To cover my bases, and because it was more cost effective overall, I ended up ordering an entire sump assembly (3485ED1002B) Due to the work revolved in dissasembling the unit to replace the entire sump assembly as a whole, I ended up removing all of the parts from the new sump assembly except for the heater element, and installing them in the existing sump housing. So the dishwasher has a new drain pump, wash motor, diverter motor w/switch and soil sensor. I used all of the cover pieces from the new sump assembly that you access from inside the dishwasher, as well as the grinding blade. The only parts of the original sump assembly are the base housing and heater assembly. The noise during the wash cycle is now 50% quieter then it was before replacing these parts but it's still 50% louder then it was originally. I know it's definitely wash motor noise, but I'm not sure if diverter motor noise could also be in play (not sure when the diverter motor runs) My dishwasher was purchased in late 2006 so I know I now have revised parts. Are these newer parts louder than original parts? Is there something else that I have not replaced that could be causing the wash cycle noise to be louder than originally?
1 Answer Evan, The diverter motor will be operate throughout the wash cycle and switches from upper to lower spray arms on the unit. It is very plausible that the diverter motor could be defective and need to replace. Read More...
Evan May 17, 2013 for Model Number LG LDF7810 I have an LG LDF7810 that is 6 1/2 years old. It has worked flawlessly until now. There is now a loud (compared to what it normally sounds like) continuous noise when the unit is running it's cycle. After the unit is turned on at the door is closed, it makes no noise for a couple minutes, then I hear three "ramp ups" that make the loud noise, then it goes continuous. I hear water moving around inside the entire diswasher while this noise is going on, so it seems to be whatever motor is driving the unit during the core of it's cycle.
1 Answer Evan, You will want to check to make sure that the diverter motor is good and that the pump is not causing the noise. You will want to check down inside the pump to make sure that there is nothing in the pump that would cause the noise to occur. Read More...
Roop April 20, 2013 for Model Number lds5811st dishwasher would not drain it would stop nothing is working & LE is flashing it is a Lg brand
1 Answer Roop, The LE error indicates an issue with the motor, but it may not be a faulty motor. There could be an article stuck or restricting the impeller, chopper blade or wash chambber in the sump. Read More...
Tonyd February 07, 2013 for Model Number LDF6810ST We have an OE error that comes up after a few minutes and the dishwasher stops. I took the innards apart and there is no debris clogging anything I can see. I replaced the drain hose because it cracked when I pulled the dishwasher out, so I know it isn't clogged. The OE error still comes up. There is a louder than usual noise that sounds like a motor that tries to spin up.... and a humming noise. It used to be very quiet. I would like to fix it, rather than replace the whole unit. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello TonyD. Check the wiring connection. Measure the electric resistance of Drain Motor. (20-40 ) Replace the Drain Motor or repair the Circuit. Read More...
Bobby January 10, 2013 for Model Number Lg6920st The lower spray arm doesn't spin. The upper one works fine. I have disassembled the bottom and nothing seems to be clogged. Any suggestions on what it can be and what to replace if need be. I have read that the this same problem was fixed with replacing the vario motor.
1 Answer Hello Bobby, YOu will want to make sure that your check valve MJX32862501 is not stuck and is operating properly. The check valve alternates the spray from lower to upper spray arms. If the check valve appears to be ok it is connected to the the diverter motor 4681ED3001D that you would want to replace. Read More...
Anthony December 08, 2012 for Model Number LG LDS5811ST My LG dishwasher will show the famous LE code at the end of the 'quick wash' cycle. I checked the wire harness, seems fine, although I did notice two small slices in two different wires, the wire was not breached, just the plastic. I taped up the spots. The sound dampening foam seem to be fine. I took out the motor. I did see a plastic straw from my babies bottle (about 3 inches long) that did get in down by the blades. Not sure if this was stopping the motor or not. Everything moves freely. No freeze-ups. After putting everything back together. All seems fine. It washes and I hear it drain too. About 15 mins left on the cycle and than the LE code goes off again. I dont think its the motor. Is there a sensor that may be at fault?
1 Answer Hello Anthony, The fault would not be caused by a sensor. The Fault LE indicates that the motor is working abnormally. You want to check all wiring to make sure it is in good condition. Check the impeller of washing pump for being locked. Check the rotor of the washer motor for being locked and check the blade for being locked. If all this checks ok then you would need to replace the PCB. Read More...
Ken November 26, 2012 for Model Number ldf7810st I am getting the le code i have3 changed the motor and it still comes up le. Is there a way to check the motor?
1 Answer Hello Ken. You need a new motor, wiring harness, and the inner door liner for the LE error code to be repaired. A new motor alone will not fix the issue. Read More...
Mike November 04, 2012 for Model Number LDS5811WW Getting a HE error massage. What does that mean? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Mike. HE is a heating circuit error. Make sure the heater and thermistor are good on the unit and if so, replace the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Aandy September 23, 2012 for Model Number LDS5811WW/01 S/N 703KWWZ00449 The blade hit one of the screw heads on the bottom of the sump case (nomenclature?) and the interfrerence stopped the (spray arms) pump motor. This, of course, caused an "LE" error display. Upon disassembly and reassembly, the interference went away - almost. The washer now works but the slight interferrence of the blade and the screw head make just enough noise to be "unsettling" to the operator. Is here a shim (maybe .005 or .010) that can be put on the motor shaft (seating surface for the blade) that will lower the blade slightly? [At disassembly the blade appeared quite flat when placed on a "flat surface".] Is there a gasket in the structure that might improve the blade - screw head clearance if it were replaced ? Same question for the motor mount screws washers ? Without fouling the bottom of the IMPELLER with the sump case. Thank You.
1 Answer Hi. In between the lower sump and the middle case part # 3111DD1001A is a packing part# 3920ED4009B that is on the motor shaft. There is gasket part # 4986DD3004A that round the Use rinse aid to help install this part. There are no Service Bulletins @ this issue so it must be a stacking issue or the impeller top bolt must have gotten loose since it is a left hand thread inner motor shaft. Use loktite part # F8283401 to help keep it in. The impeller is part # 5911ED3003A in case it is bent or damaged. Thank You. Read More...
