Hello Mercer, You will want to put the icemaker into a cycle by pushing the button on the bottom of the motor. If the unit does not cycle then you would need to replace icemaker. If the unit does not fill with water you will want to pull icemaker and check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If the fill tube is not frozen then replace icemaker.

Hi Dean. The ice maker part # DA97-00258E will normally take 24-48 hrs to cycle as it needs to be at the freezer frozen temperature before it calls for water. Make sure the ice maker is in the on position. Trip the feeler arm up and down a couple of times to begin the cycle if the temp. are below 32°. Feel inside the ice ejector arm to release the bind of the arm. Use the wiring diagram and Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Find the control board output pins and make sure you have the correct ice maker output. Make sure the wiring harness under the freezer door hinge are connected if you removed the door when storage. It feeds the ice maker. Thank You.

Hello Oscar, If there is ice in the fill tube, this is an indication of either low water pressure or a bad water inlet valve. I know you said you just replaced the water inlet valve, but there is always the possibility of a bad new part. I would first thaw out all of the ice in the fill tube and the fill cup with a hair dryer. Next, turn the water off to the unit and remove the water line from the wall to the water inlet valve and place it in a bucket or plastic trashcan. Turn the water on and insure there is sufficient water pressure. If there is, I would call in for an exchange on the new part for a factory defective part. If there isn't, look for a crimp in the water supply line or check to see if the water supply line originates at a self-tapping saddle valve. If it does, the manufacturer recommends to drill the pierced hole out to a full 1/4 inch hole.

Hi Bob. Do you see any definite fault codes ? A couple of things may affect this. First remove the ice bin assy. Then tape the freezer door switch shut. While the door is open put a glass into the ice paddle and call for ice, Is the auger motor part DA31-00105A turning at all ? Switch from cubes to crush and see if The crush solenoid plunger part DA74-40151G next to the auger motor goes up and down when you test it ? IF they do not then use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to see if they get 120 vac while pressing for ice cubes or crush. This will tell you if the paddle switch part # DA34-00011B , fountain controls part # DA97-02828E and the wiring to the parts mentioned are ok. Use the supplied wiring diagram up in the controls or in the kick plate grill below to follow the circuits. Thank You.

Segen77 for Model Number RV195BSSW

We have had several power outages. Now for some reason the ice maker wont dump all ice. when it turns to dump it will dump about half, then you hear it click several times front to twist the tray enough to get the rest of the ice out. It is unsuccessful with the dump but will still fill with water anyway, so it will overfill and dump one giant chunk of ice. Do I need to replace with this part? AP4335223 and does it come with enough instructions to do so? I am fairly handy. Thanks

Wayne for Model Number Samsung RB215lash

We had a power outage for an hour and then we noticed that the ice maker wasn't making much ice. I pushed the reset/test button on the bottom of the ice maker and it dropped the ice. It takes about 3-4 hours to drop ice unless I push the button to drop sooner. The temp in the freezer is -2 degrees. What is wrong? Do I need a new ice maker assy?? It takes too long for it to drop ice or I have to hit the black button on the bottom. What gives? Thanks, Wayne

1 Answer

Hello Wayne. The icemaker should cycle every two to three hours based on the temperature in the freezer. If the unit is taking over 4 hours to cycle, then you will need to replace the icemaker DA97-02203H. Hope this helps.
