Hello Panga, The only magnetron WB49X10226 for your microwave is the one specified by the manufacturer. This is very important to prevent personal injury to yourself.

Megatron for Model Number samsung microwave

Is there an easy way to measure the magnetron supply voltage or at least that it's getting the proper voltage? I know it's around 5000V while my multimeter is limited to 1000V. I was considering building a high resistance 5:1 voltage divider to get the voltage down to manageable levels but I read that standard resistors are specified for 200-500 working voltage, hence I'd need at least 25 resistors. I've seen high voltage multimeter probes available on ebay but they're a bit expensive ($100) for single time usage.

Megatron, Without purchasing a meter to read the voltage, you would only be able to measure the resistance. The resistance should be less than 1 ohm.

Hello Ken, As with all appliance parts, we have to look them up by the model number. We have no resources that give us specifications on parts by the vendor numbers. I'm sorry but we do not have the information available to answer this question.

Hello Alex, The magnetron part number for your unit is WB27X10735 and the diode is WB27X1160. The number on the part is the manufacturers reference number but the ones provided are manufacturer part numbers for the part.

Alex for Model Number jvm1851cf, i think

I got this mw used and the interior ID sticker is missing. I used the paper schematic from behind the control panel and the GE website to get my model number, so its not 'confirmable'. I saw some light flashes and heard a pop while using the microwave. It no longer heats up, but does everything else. do you think its a magnetron and diode problem? The magnetron sticker says samsung OM75P(10), but my model number doesnt cross reference. I'm confused, can you help?

1 Answer

Hello Alex, You can visually check to make sure that the magnet on the magnetron is not cracked. Also do an ohm reading on the magnetron WB27X10735 and you should have .5 ohms. You can check continuity of the diode WB27X1160. It may also be the stirrer WB06X10331 that failed which would cause no heat issue. Also check the thermostat WB27X10166on the side of the magnetron for continuity.

Hardasdirt for Model Number spacemaker xl 1800

Can't find the sticker for the model number, and I didnt buy this microwave new. I had the flashing light through sheetmetal perforations at the magnetron and slight smoke smell. Ever since it wont heat but turntable, fan, lights etc work. Magnets arent cracked, nothing is black on the magnetron and it ohms .5 across the tabs and open on both to ground [OM75P(10) - 23AC060035], which seems to imply it should work. Diode is open both ways, therefore isnt working. Cap slowly drops in resistance when ohmmeter is used on it. Is the magnetron bad? Bad cap and diode? You mention stir assembly in another post. what where who is that?

1 Answer

Hello Hardasdirt, If the diode is reading open then it is bad and would need to be replaced. Also check your HV transformer to make sure that it is ok. The stirrer is located on the upper portion of cabinet and stirs the microwaves evenly.
