The OEM Replacement is a bearing designed to function as the rear bearing in Whirlpool front-load washers. It also works as the upper brake bearing in top-load washers. Positioned near the tub's brake assembly, this component plays a significant role in the operation of the washer. In top-load washers, it resides above the brake assembly.

Causes of a bad bearing can include prolonged wear and tear, exposure to excessive loads, or water intrusion that leads to rust and corrosion. A compromised bearing can lead to more significant issues if not addressed promptly.

Symptoms of a bad bearing include:

  • Loud, unusual noises during the wash or spin cycles
  • Excessive vibration or movement of the washer
  • The drum not rotating smoothly or becoming stuck
  • Leaks around the drum area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Scott, The outer bearings on the unit are not a replaceable part and you would need to replace the outer tub of the unit for the bearings being faulty.

I purchased the tub bearings and seal kit from you, but upon disassembly it turns out the bearing spacer has a chunk missing as well as the bearings being bad. Is the bearing spacer available? I called, but the salesman could not find it in your system (although he diligently tried). If not available, any recommendations or suggestions? Would there be any way you could provide some specs like internal and external diameter and length so we can try to locate a workable substitute? Anything special about the material it's made of?

Don, The Ball Bearing WP200835 is installed correctly, as long as the Radial(rear) bearing WP22003441 is seated in the brake package properly, and the brake package is installed as tight as possible, and locked in place with the retainer clip and bolt WP213325 WP3934714. If you're sure the drive lug WP211089 is adjusted properly, then you will have to check and replace the tub bearing 6-2040130 and tub seal kit 6-2095720 TB123B The bearing has seized to the transmission race, and will not allow the tub to spin.

We have what appears to be thin oil and water mix type of leak, when I tipped the machine over and inspected the brake area I noticed it looked more like melted grease from the lower bearing,so I removed the pulley and indeed the lower bearing was a mess, and was slinging grease everywhere. I took the front cover off and inspected the underside of the tub and did see some water streaks, my question is, how deep and what seals do I need to solve the water leak issue?

Rich for Model Number Maytag Neptune mah3000aaw

We have ignored the turbo prop plane sound during the spin cycle for a long time. Today it stopped spinning altogether. I opened the back and found the belt off the pully and motor and wear marks in the tub (not yet through the plastic) where the pully and/or belt have been rubbing against the tub. The pully also rotates front to back. When I put the belt backing it won't stay and pulls the pully against the tub. Can you tell me what I need to fix this? Im handy and open to replacing the front and rear bearings in the tub. Will just replacing the front and rear bearings get everything back in alignment? Will I also need a new belt and pully? Thanks for your help!

Hello Rich. No, to repair the unit you will need to replace the outer tub 22004465 and if the support is bad or marked on the shaft, the support W10181639 will need to be replaced as well.

Jeremy, On that unit you most likely will need the tub bearing and tub seal assembly 6-2095720 and 6-2040130 and a spanner wrench to do the repair TB123B. A lower radial bearing seldom goes bad, unless you've had a leak and washed all the lubricant out of the bearing. Remove the front panel and isolate the location of the noise, At or neear the bottom of the tub assembly, tub bearing/seal at the base of the machine the radial bearing. Good Luck and Thanks
