Frank C June 29, 2015 for Model Number gbd307pr01 After an electrical storm the display on my double oven went dim and then went dead. Would your opinion be the control panel, display, or the fuse.. This is a repeat of a question I sent earlier and I was not sure if i enter the right email address because I did not receive an answer.
1 Answer Frank, If you can hit the display and it beep then the most likely cause would be a transformer that has failed. You can test at the control board on the P16 connector from pins 5 to 7 for 120 vac if there is not 120 vac then check the fuse to make sure that it has continuity. If the fuse checks ok then the control board would be ok. If at the P16 5 to 7 there is 120 vac then you will want to test pins 2 to 3 for 24 vdc. If there is not proper power then the transformer is defective and would need replaced. If there is power then the control board is defective. The part number for the transformer is WP9760587, the fuse WPW10638608, and the control board WPW10438750. Read More...
Ron May 11, 2015 for Model Number GBD307PRBO1 The use of my double oven is limited to the bottom. The top lower element and the upper element will not heat up. The control panel seems to be working fine. I replaced the Thermal cut off fuse, this did not help. It was suggested to change the temperatue sensor. Could the problem be one of the control boards or will the temperature sensor help me?
1 Answer Ron, The oven sensor can be checked for resistance of 1090 ohms to make sure that it is good. Most likely it will check ok and the issue will be the control board part number WPW10438750. Read More...
Kim May 11, 2015 for Model Number GBD307PRB01, whirlpool double wall oven, black After several power failures during a blizzard, the oven display panel does not work (no lcd display). The oven light button and the actual light inside the oven both work. Pushing any of the other buttons (on/off/temperature/upper-lower/broil, etc) results in two beeps followed by three beeps but nothing happens in the oven or on the display panel (i.e. no heat, no timer, etc). Do we need to replace just the transformer or just the control board or both? We have tried resetting the breaker/cutting power for several hours, with no success. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
1 Answer Kim, You will want to access the transformer and check to make sure that there is 120 vac going into the transformer. If there is the check the blue wires coming out of the transformer to make sure that there is 12 to 24 vdc to your control board. If there is not then the transformer WP9760587 will be the issue. If there is proper power to and from the transformer then the control board would be the issue. Read More...
Doug October 02, 2014 for Model Number RBD305PRS00 Have a Whirlpool RBD305PRS00. The lights on the control panel have gone out but when pressed, it still beeps and turns the oven light on/off. The Electronic Control Board (8303883) was replaced 2 1/2 years ago. Reading this site I see several possible courses to diagnose the problem: transformer, inline fuse and control thermal fuse. Is there an order in which to check these that makes sense? If all of these check out is there anything else to check or would I then need a new control panel? Finally, where, on the expanded schematic are these parts located? Want to make sure I have the right part numbers to order and to help me in getting to the area to diagnose. Thanks.
1 Answer Doug, With the control beeping when pushing a button the most likely cause for the failure will be the transformer which is part number WP9760587. Read More...
Sam September 24, 2014 for Model Number GBD307PRY01 Hello, My double wall oven's display is dead, touching on the buttons sends out a beep but oven does not work. The oven light works though. Is this a control board issue?
1 Answer Hello Sam. You need to check the control fuse. If it is bad, You will need to use WPW10638608 for the control fuse. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Dee July 20, 2014 for Model Number RBD245PRB00 If I was to replace the control board, can I get to it from the front Or do I have to pull it out of the wall and get to it through the back? If I can do it from the front , can you tell me how?
1 Answer Hello Dee, You can work from the front. To remove the control panel you will need to remove the side trim. When you open the oven door there will be a screw toward the bottom of the opening that you will have to remove. Remove screw on either side and remove trim by pulling on the bottom out approximately 2" and slide top down to free from control panel. Once removed you will remove the 1 screw on either side of control panel. Once out you will pull control panel out from the bottom, and lift and unhook it from the oven cabinet support at the top. Mike April 16, 2014 for Model Number gbd307prs00 Thank you for your answer to my 1st question. I did as you suggested and tried to run the clean cycle, but everytime I press start I get the F5 error code. I have checked over the latch locking assembly and the mother board for any evidence of power surge but found none. All the tests on the latch and micro switches passed The only abnormal test was on the latch motor which read 1870 ohms ( very close to the 2400 ohms shown as normal). After testing when I applied power the fan started up and I got error code E0 F5. I cleared that code and the time showed with LOC beside it and start? below it. I cleaed that and got the time as normal. I turned the upper oven on and it started heating for a few secondsthen showed the F5 code. After that anything I tried to turn on would show the F5 code whenever I pushed the start button. I am just not sure what to replace.
1 Answer Hello Mike. You will need to replace the door lock assembly and if the code continues, replace the board. Read More...
Mike W. April 07, 2014 for Model Number GBD307PRS00 After a power failure, the oven fan ran continuously and the PF code was present. While trying to reset the oven I saw the E0 F3 code. I unplugged the unit for a few minutes then plugged it back in. Again the fan started up after a few seconds. The control panel responds, oven light, temp, timer etc. but after setting oven temp and pushing start I get the F5 code. Thanks for any help.
1 Answer Mike, The F3 E0 code indicated the oven temp. sensor was an "open" circuit. The F5 error code indicates the oven door is open, but the self clean door latch switch is "closed" indicating the door is "locked". In some cases, you can program a self clean cycle, wait two or three minutes, then cancel the cycle. Sometimes that will reset the switch, and the oven will go back to normal operation. If not, you will need to check the self clean latch assembly WPW10195934 and the "sister" board WP8301848 for possible damage from the voltage spike. Read More...
Tammie March 22, 2014 for Model Number RBD305PRS00 The double ovens will not work. The lights work and the pads beep. I know I need to replace the control panel but do I need to replace the transformer also?
1 Answer Hello Tammie, I think you should test and replace the transformer WP9760587. Its' sole purpose is to power the clocks' display. If everything else is working, it is a very good possibility that this is the cause. If it tests good, (continuity with a resistance reading from small wire to small wire and large wire to large wire), there is also an in-line fuse that should be checked WPW10638608. There is a good possibility that the control will not need to be replaced. Read More...
