Evalyn, The control board needs to be "programmed" when installed. You will find the tech data sheet behind the kick plate grille in a plastic envelope attached to the bottom of the compartment. it will have the directions on how to program the replacement control. You will also need to write down the "code" printed on the production/serial plate inside the refrigerator compartment in order to properly configure the control board "personality" so it will work correctly. You can also repost your question, but include the model number of your refrigerator so we can supply the correct information.

Jabari, No there is no reset switch in the refrigerator, If you unplug the power cord , wait 30 to 60 seconds and plug it back in to the outlet, that would reset the board. Make sure you have power at the outlet, access the H V Control board WPW10310240 / W10213583 on the back of the refrigerator. Restore power to the machine, and check for 120 VAC across the J1 pin 4 (red wire) and J1 pin 8 (white wire) if you have the voltage, replace the HV Control board.

Tina, The water is supposed to be slightly cooler than room temp and for the dispenser lights flickering you will want to check to make sure that there are no loose connections at the top of the door hinge and if this checks ok will need to replace the dispenser control board.

Jose, Check the user preference settings to see if the control board reset itself incorrectly when power was re established. If that doesn't solve the issue repost your question and include an e mail address, so we can send you the information you may need to check and reset the programs, " To Access the User Preferences Menu: 1. Press and hold the Door Alarm touch pad for 3 seconds. The preference name will appear in the Freezer display and the preference status (F or C) or (ON or OFF) will appear in the Refrigerator display. 2. Use the Freezer (+) or (-) touch pads to scroll through the preference names. When the desired preference name is displayed, press the Refrigerator (+) or (-) touch pads to change the preference status. 3. Set your preferences by pressing and holding the Door Alarm touch pad for 3 seconds. "

Butch for Model Number Whirlpool Gold Fridge Model #GI5SVAXVL00

My fridge only occasionally dispenses water and ice. I have replaced the control board (W10162500) with no improvement. I can hear the normal "click" when I press on the tongue for dispensing. When I select ice I do not hear the augur motor start. On water mode the valve doesn't open to dispense water. Very occasionally it will work normally. Usually this is first thing in the morning, but not always. What do you recommend for troubleshooting and repair?

Butch, You will want to check the wiring at the top of the door to make sure that the issue is not damaged wires. If this checks ok then the issue would most likely be caused by a faulty main control board WPW10310240.

Latrina for Model Number GI5FVAXYY00

Last week the dispense display board started to blink on and off. This happened for 2 days straight. Now nothing lights up on the dispense display. If I press a button, all lights will come on and as soon as I release the button it will stop. Sometimes it make a noise when I press the button. The light inside the refrigerator and freezer still work. The freezer will work but not the refrigerator not working. I ordered part #w10315980 (w10740218) hoping that it will fix my problem.

Trey, The first thing to check for the display going out would be the wire harness at the top of the door by the hinge. Check for loose or damaged wires. If this checks ok then the issue would more likely be a main control board WPW10310240 that has failed.
