Bill February 28, 2023 for Model Number WED5000DW2 Whirlpool dryer WED5000DW2 wouldn't tumble and motor is buzzing. Popped lid and with a push on the drum it would rotate, but slowly. From symptoms listed on your website I ordered the Dryer Repair Kit (29 Inch Large Capacity Models) part #AP3131942 from you. It came today and installed following your great video. The motor pulley had a little bit of rubber debris which I cleaned with a nylon bristle brush and looks to be in good shape. After repair motor still buzzes and no rotation but if I give the drum a push the motor stops buzzing and drum rotates at normal speed. So improvement but motor is not overcoming the starting friction on its own. Nothing seems to be stuck, no lint or other debris, and both ends of the drum seem to be in good shape where they rotate on the dryer frame and appear to be properly seated. What is the next step to troubleshoot this?
1 Answer Bill, This issue would be caused by a faulty motor if the motor is not starting up and just buzzing. Read More...
Larry December 19, 2022 for Model Number LE9500XTW1 I checked the compatability for dryer repair kit 4392065 and get this result: Sorry This part is not compatible. See parts for model LE9500XTW1 But every part number in the kit description is the correct replacement part for the dryer model LE9500XTW1. idler pully WP691366 (original part 691366) rear drum roller kit 349241T (original part 661562) dryer belt 341241 (original part 3394651) I replaced the rear drum seal and it started making noise now, which it did not make before. It is 29 years old, and have not replaced any part until now. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Larry, as the rear drum seal was replaced before this noise started occurring, it would be recommended that the drum seals are checked for any excessive ripples, folds, or objects that may have become stuck. In regards to the dryer repair kit 4392065, it will work with the model number provided. Read More...

Carl W March 24, 2022 for Model Number LE7800XSN1 I'm considering part number 4392065, Dryer Maintenance Kit, but am not sure it works with the Whirlpool model LE7800XSN1. 4392065 shows as compatible with LE7800XSN2 but no mention is made for model LE7800XSN1. Will part number 4302065 work with Whirlpool Dryer model LE7800XSN1? Thanks!
1 Answer Carl W, Based on the model number LE7800XSN1 the belt would be part number "Whirlpool Dryer Belt 341241 / 341241" https://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-whirlpool-dryer-belt-341241-ap2946843.html Read More...

Bob June 30, 2021 for Model Number MEDC200XW1 My Maytag sounds like I have a banshee trapped inside. I've changed the rollers, the idler pully, and belt. It did quiet it down a little, but not a lot. What's really odd is that when I open the door while it's running I can see the drum stop, but the noise lasts for 2-3 seconds after the drum stops? Front bearing seal? Blower wheel? Thanks!
1 Answer Bob, if the noise sounds like it is coming from the top of the unit, it would be very likely that the high pitched noise is an electrical sound from either the timer W10894766 contacts not closing fully or from a wire having a bare spot that is allowing an electrical arc. If it sounds like it is coming from below the console, it would be likely an electrical arc from a wire. Inspecting the unit and isolating the noise to a specific area will allow for the best identification. Read More...
Julian December 06, 2020 for Model Number MEDC300BW0 I have replaced the thermal fuse twice. The first time it failed was due to clogged vent line. The second time, the vent is clear and the reason for the thermal fuse failure is unclear. I took the drum out, found both rollers a bit stiff. I took them apart, lubricated, then reassembled everything; replaced the thermal fuse and it runs again. Question: Other than the rollers being stiff to roll, what else do you think could be causing the thermal fuse to fail? The belt seems good, rollers are much better now, vent clear, so not sure what else it could be.
1 Answer Julian, the air temperature coming out of the drum, (with no clothes in the dryer), should be below 170 F. If the temperature rises above that, it will open the thermal fuse and shut the dryer down. I would replace the operating thermostat, part number WP3387134 Read More...
Earl May 14, 2019 for Model Number 77784100 I have older Kenmore gas dryer, belt broken, and I purchased model 341241 belt and its a little tight and not as wide as an older belt, what should I do is there a repair kit available for this dryer
1 Answer Earl, The belt is supposed to be tight and will loosen after a couple of cycles. There is a kit for your unit 4392065 but the belt size is the same. Read More...
Mike April 02, 2019 Do you know belt size for this dryer. My belt 92 1/4" does not fit drum and thru idle roller onto drive motor shaft. too tight. Need next size belt up for 29" drum dryer (oversize drum) Admiral oversized dryer AED4675YQ1
1 Answer Mike, The correct belt for the model number [AED4675YQ1] you supplied is 341241 / W10131364 Belt, Drive 92 1/4" . The manufacturer also suggests 4392065 / 4392065 Maintenance Kit ((INCL 691366 PULLEY, 349241T DRUM ROLLERS & 341241 BELT NOT FOR ALL MODELS), but the belt is 92" in length. Not that a 1/4" would make a "major" difference. order the 341241 correct belt to be sure. Read More...
