Vickie November 15, 2018 for Model Number WDF540PADB1 The heating element went out and we replaced it but it still won't heat up. We have now replaced the high-temperature thermostat but it still won't heat up. What should we do now?
1 Answer Hello Vickie, Since you have replaced the heating element and the high limit thermostat all that is left in the circuit is the wiring harness and the control board W10804117. You can do a visual inspection of the wiring harness but the most likely cause of this will be the board. Read More...

Becky July 23, 2018 for Model Number Wdf520padw5. Whirlpool dishwasher I replaced the heating element and the high limit thermostat but the dishwasher does not heat the water or dry. What's next?
1 Answer Becky, there is a heater relay on the main control board, you should be able to check for voltage coming out of the heater relay when the unit is washing, there should be a tech sheet behind the toe plate that shows exactly what wires are attached to the relay and how to check it. The part number for the control is W11025865 Read More...

Dalip February 26, 2018 for Model Number GE Dishwasher Model#GDWF100V55BB Dishwasher had the bottom arm plastic break and melt on the heating element. Now , dishwasher does work but gets extremely hot...to the point where the plastic tray is kind of melted/singed. Very very hot.
1 Answer Dalip, For this issue this will most likely be caused by a control board that has a stuck relay on it causing the heater to stay on. Read More...
Tony February 05, 2018 for Model Number WDF320PADT1 The heating element was replaced and still no heat during cycle. What else has to be checked in the proper sequence to fix the issue. Thanks .
1 Answer Hello Tony. You will need to check the thermostat WP661566 and if it is good, then check the wiring. Last check the board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Luke January 25, 2018 for Model Number 665.15112k211 I replaced the heating element and the thermostat yet the heating element doesn’t seem to heat up at all. What else could it be?
1 Answer Hello Luke, This can be caused by the control board, the high limit thermostat, the heating element, or the wiring harness. As per the tech sheet, if you experience a no heat situation you should check the operation of the heater in the Service Diagnostics cycle, the unplug dishwasher or disconnect power and measure the resistance of the heater and all components and connections in Water Heating Circuit/Heat Dry Circuit. Since the heating element and thermostat have been replaced the issue will most likely be in the control board W10804111 but the wiring should be checked to avoid ordering an un-needed part. Lisa December 31, 2017 for Model Number W10518394 W10518394 was replaced in the dishwasher but there is still no heat for water or drying.
1 Answer Hello Lisa, The heating element is not the only component in most design dishwashers that can cause no heat. There is normally a high limit thermostat that can go open, a wiring harness that can have an issue, a door switch that can fail, and of course, the control board/timer. For a more detailed diagnosis, please post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag. This will enable us to see the model you have and the components in the heating circuit. It will also enable us to provide you with the correct parts numbers for your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Curt December 08, 2017 for Model Number WDF520PADM5 Hi, a friend just gave me this 2 y/o dishwasher that washes and rinses but does not heat water, nor air dry. The heat element looks bad and measures 18 mega ohms so it needs replacing. The high limit thermostat checks good (and opens at about 200F). There is no visible damage other than the element. Is there any way to make sure the control is good before I purchase a heat element, because if the control is bad I'll scrap it all. The tech manual says the control will disable the heat circuit if any problem is found in that circuit. Also, the tech manual says the heat element is 805 watts wet and 385 watts dry. How can the wattage have 2 levels wet to dry when the manual simply shows the element is turned off and on to 120 volts by 2 electro-mechanical relays? Thank you.
1 Answer Curt, If you put the unit into a high temp wash you can test to see if there is 120 vac going to the heater. If there is 120 vac then just the heater would need replaced. If there is not power then the issue will be a faulty board. Read More...
