David June 18, 2014 for Model Number Maytag Epic - Model MFW9500TKO We ordered a new motor from you. Part Number 8182793 to fix a faulty motor. It went in fine. Unfortunately now, it seems to be having logic issues. For instance, it only uses very hot water whether it's set to cold or hot. It also locked the door vs. unlocking it when it was done so we couldn't get in. I had to trick it to unlock. Did we install something backwards? Is this not the right motor?
1 Answer David, Based on the model number this motor WP8182793 is the correct motor for the unit. The motor would not have anything to do with the water temperature or door lock. These things are controlled by the main control board. Read More...
Simmy April 07, 2014 for Model Number WFW9400SW01 My washer won't start and puts up codes f 71 and f 70.
1 Answer Hello Simmy. Possible Causes/Procedure 1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness. 2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit. 3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating. 4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving. Read More...
Wayne April 03, 2014 for Model Number 110 42926 200 The unit does not spin. The time remaining display blinks. The test program C:04, C:05 and C:07, C:08. No rotation. I have performed a continuity test of the motor windings and they are at 6ohms. There is no tell tale indication of anything burnt. Visual or orafactory. I have installed a new door switch because a test with an ohmmeter showed the contact closure intermittent. The new one is fine. I am unable to see how to display Fault codes. What is next.
1 Answer Wayne, Based on the information this issue sounds like there is a control board issue with the unit in which you will need to replace the main control board. Read More...
Pat February 22, 2014 for Model Number mhwe450ww00 It won't go into high speed spin. The water drains fine. It spins slow and just doesn't go into a high speed spin.
1 Answer Hello Pat, You need to run the units' self-diagnostics to pull the fault codes. Starting Error History, Software Version, and Diagnostic Test: NOTE: Washer must be empty and the control must be in the OFF state. 1. Close the door. 2. Select any one key (except “STOP/CANCEL” and “CONTROL LOCK” [EOC]) and follow the steps below, using the same key: Press/hold for 2-5 seconds, Release Press/hold for 2-5 seconds' Release Press/hold for 2-5 seconds. 3. Upon release, all yellow/green console LED lights will turn ON for 5 sec. 4. If there are any failure codes stored by the washer, the display shows them. Note: The last four errors will be displayed. 5. Press the same key to advance to the next code. 6. After the indication of error codes, the UI, CCU, and MCU SW version will be displayed. 7. The number of cycles since last clean washer cycle is displayed. 8. All green console LED lights will turn ON for 5 seconds. 9. Next the washer begins the automated diagnostic test. 10.To cancel out of service mode, press the “STOP” button. The codes are explained in the tech sheet located behind the bottom front panel. Jennifer October 30, 2013 for Model Number GHW9150PW4 We have a whirlpool washer that does the wash cycle fine. It then drains and can't quit draining. It drains all of the water out and continues to try to drain and drain and finally flashes F 02 on the screen. It seems like it can't move on to the next cycle. We have spent a lot trying to repair it and nothing works. We have put a new drain motor on. Then put a new control board an the top back of it. Tonight we put a new control board on the bottom left and it still doesn't work. Now it won't even cancel out so I can open the door. We have almost $600 in it now and wish we had bought a new one in the first place but what next? We don't feel like we can quit after putting that much into it. Thank You.
1 Answer Hello Jennifer. Make sure the air dome on the tub is not clogged and if not, replace the pressure switch WPW10514214 on the unit. Read More...

Bob October 14, 2013 for Model Number 110.42932 200 Our kenmore washer just stopped working...it has a code F06. The motor had been making a clunking sound off and on for a few weeks. Now it won't even spin out. Could it be the drive motor that just died?
1 Answer Hello Bob. The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be unlocked after three minutes. Potential Causes Verify the shipping system including shipping bolts, spacers and cables are removed. Check wire harness connections between the Drive Motor and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU). Check the Drive Motor. Check the MCU. Read More...
Ray August 29, 2013 for Model Number GHW9400PWO MY WASHER HAS AN F2 ERROR CODE , THE MOTOR SOUNDS LIKE IT'S RUNNING BUT WON'T TURN
1 Answer Ray, The F2 error is a long drain. You will want to access the pump and pull the filter basket out and check it for being clogged. Also check the impeller of the drain pump to make sure that it is not damaged. Read More...
Bruce August 05, 2013 for Model Number GHW9400PW4 I get an F-06 error code even in the self cleaning cycle. Will the water temperature sensor do that?
1 Answer Hello Bruce, • Check wire harness connections between the Drive Motor/Tachometer and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU) • Check the Drive Motor • Check the MCU • Check the Wire Harness As per the service manual, the control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. Vic August 31, 2012 for Model Number 11045089402 Stared washer on speed cycle 1/2 way thru the wash, after the first spin cycle the washer stops and display F6 error code. I test tested the motor and have 7 ohm at each terminal. Tested the techometer I have 125 ohm. The wire harness is good. Is there anyway of checking the MCU. Or can you suggest any other solution.
1 Answer Vic, The F6 error code on your unit indicates a communication error between the MCU W10756692 on the base of the washer cabinet and the CCU WP8182689 attached to the top of the cabinet, under the top panel. Check and make sure there are no loose wire connections between the motor and MCU and the MCU and the CCU. The issue is most likely in the MCU, but when you remove the the lower front access panel you'll find the Tech Data Information Sheet, and can conduct the diagnostic and motor tests to verify.
