Bernhard June 01, 2012 for Model Number GHW9300PW4 There more than 3 terminals on the motor, which ones are 1,2 & 3 ? Are they top to bottom with the motor still in the machine?
1 Answer Hello Berhard. They are the large red, blue and white wire terminals on the motor WP8182793. Read More...
1 Answer William, The F11 error code indicates there's a communication error between the CCU WP8182689 and the MCU W10756692 or failed motor WP8182793. It usually winds up being a faulty MCU, but you need to check for any loose connections between the two control boards, and the motor. Then check the motor winding resistances with a multimeter ( on the motor check pin 1 to pin 2, pin 1 to pin 3 and pin 2 to pin 3 and should have the same resistance on all the checks, approximately 6 ohms.) If all checks OK, replace the MCU. Here's some meter usage information, should you need it [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Trevor April 14, 2012 for Model Number MFW9700SQ1 Washing machine runs fine empty, but with any weight in it, even 1 towel, it won't spin and I get an F06 error. Had a repairman out yesterday and he checked everything and concluded the motor was shot. Is it likely that the motor is shot and it still runs fine empty? Thx!
1 Answer Hello Trevor. Yes, the motor WP8182793 can cause the issue you are having with the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mike T. April 10, 2012 for Model Number whirlpool ghw9200lw I get error code F6. Tub won't spin. I opened the front panel and the front shock absorber is broken and detached. The motor sounds like it is trying to spin but won't. If I replace the shock will that put the tub in alignment and allow it to spin?
1 Answer Hello Mike. Remove the belt from the washer and turn the tub assembly by hand. If it feels tight, then the shock could repair the unit. If it is not binding, then you may have another issue. Also, you can test the motor WP8182793 without the belt hooked up and see if the motor works without the belt installed. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ada March 29, 2012 for Model Number 110.47086600 One of the wires came loose from the drive motor wiring plug. Can I reattach it or how can I get just that part of the harness? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Ada, The part number for the harness is 8183188. The wire can be put back in only if it can be crimped into place as the vibration of the units' normal operation will cause it to come right back out. If the metal connector came out of the molex connector, the locking tab can be bent back out and the connector reinserted into the molex connector. Read More...
Christina January 05, 2012 for Model Number ghw9150pw1 im getting the f6 error, and my washer wont spin.. how do i tell if the drive motor is bad? how do i check the drive motor to see if it is bad?
1 Answer Christina, The motor on these particular units are pretty dependable, and do not have too many issues. But you will need a multi meter, to test the windings and the tach circuit , Disconnect the wire harness from the motor, there will be five(5) terminals , you will need to check resistance from pin 1 to pin 2, pin 2 to pin 3 and pin 1 to pin 3, You should have a resistance reading of 3 to 6 ohms, and all three readings, should be the same. You should read a resistance of 115 to 125 ohms resistance from pin 4 to pin 5 (tach circ.) If all the readings are in range, the motor is OK and you will most likely need the MCU W10756692 but check for any loose wires and connections from the motor to the MCU, and from the MCU to the CCU in the upper protion of the cabinet, first. Rodel December 07, 2011 for Model Number WHIRLPOOL GHW9100LW1 Do you need special tool to remove the motor?
1 Answer Hello Rodel. No, the motor WP8182793 is attached with bolts and can be removed with a wrench and socket set. Hope this helps. Read More...
Terry December 02, 2011 for Model Number MFW9700SQ1 I get an F06 code sometimes and at other times It looks like the drum wants to spin but seems stuck. After a few minutes it tries to spin again with the same result. I have to unplug the washer to get the door open. Should the drum turn by hand when the unit is off? It doesn't. Any ideas.
1 Answer Hello Terry. Yes, the drum should turn by hand. If the drum does not, you will need to check and see if the bearings W10772618 are bad, or if something is between the inner and outer tubs and is binding the inner tub assembly. Hope this helps. Read More...
Rriedel November 19, 2011 for Model Number ghq9400pl0 i done the recamended tests CCU position MS2 is steady 125VAC P1 and P2, M13 floats metween 4.5VDC and 8.75VDC while in operation, the wires ohm OK.
1 Answer Rriedel, Based on your posts, everything is fine, so far. How often do you get the error code, You may want to remove the belt and turn the drum pulley by hand(be careful) and listen and feel for any slight noise or an intermittent "drag" from the tub bearing as, you turn the pulley. Also check for "sudsing" in the wash cycle and drain. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Cindy November 17, 2011 for Model Number 110450087404 I am repeatedly gettting f6 error code.. Sometimes the machine will work good with several complete washing cycle and then will go back to the f6 error again.
1 Answer Hello Cindy. The F6 fault code indicates a drive motor tachometer error. The control unit for the washer is not able to properly detect drive motor speed. The troubleshooting for this fault code involves unplugging the washer and checking the wire harness connections between the drive motor and the motor control unit (MCU). Also, the wire harness connections between the MCU and the central control unit (CCU) need to be checked. If they are good, and the board is working, you will need to replace the motor WP8182793. Hope this helps. Read More...
