The Pump and Drive Belt Kit is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool washing machines. The Pump and drive belt kit is responsible for helping to drain water from the washer drum during the wash cycle. The pump and drive belt kit works by powering the washer's pump to remove water from the drum and out of the washer. The drive belt provides the power to turn the pump, while the pump helps to drain the water. The kit includes 1 pump belt and 1 drive belt.

This part fixes the following symptoms:

  • Standing water in the washer drum
  • Ineffective or non-existent water drainage
  • Potential water damage or flooding caused by a faulty pump or drive belt

Causes of needing to replace the pump and drive belt kit include normal wear and tear over extended use, exposure to debris or foreign objects, or physical damage from impact or mishandling.

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore washer models.

For Whirlpool Pump And Drive Belt Kit (Part Number: OEM12033546)

Larry for Model Number LAT8006AAE

Hi, I like this forum. My washer machine is burning the drive belt (first noticed in spin cycle, but could be in agitation as well). Both pulleys on motor turn freely without a belt and when the pump alone is turning. Without belt, Pump Pulley is turning freely. Without Belt, Drive pulley spins freely and easily in the ccw direction (looking up point of view) = all day long. However, Drive pulley spins freely, then engages in the cw direction(looking up point of view) after 4-6 full continuous rotations (it appears that the pulley is actually raising up closer to the transmission). When it engages, it takes a lot of force to rotate the tub. When I let go of the pulley, it is like it is spring loaded and it spins cw for about 1-2 rotations. I believe that this "hard spot" is what is causing the belt to slip and burn. I removed the agitator from inside of tub - there is nothing holding it up. How do I determine if this is bearing or transmission or other? What do you recommend replacing?

John, Yes, you probably would want to have a set of belts 12112425 and rollers 205000 handy. You also may want to consider a water inlet/fill valve 205613, these are the most likely components to have on hand. But, We need to know if the washer is a 120 volt 60 hz washer that has had a "step up" 220volt 50 hz. transformer, or is the washer a 220 Volt 50 hz export machine, If it is an export model, the parts will be different. Thanks

Thomas, Yes, as long as you're there, and doing a repair, I would replace the belts 12112425, If you do this right you'll get quite a few more years of uninterupted service. Belt replacement is a basic and simple replacement, raise the front of the washer a few inches and block it up, Carefully roll the pump belt across the front of the washer off the pulleys then the drive belt at an angle from left front corner to the crnter. and reverse the procedure to install the belts and adjust if necessary. We're sending you some information for the bearing repair. Good Luck and Thanks

Happy Monday, Over weekend probably overloaded washer a bit w/ quilt and my wife said "it like a high pitched screech for a couple of seconds and by the time I got there, there was smoke coming out of bottom of washer and a burnig rubber smell" (i am the one guilty of overloading). I was able to run loads through last night and it seema alright except for spin cycles. It sounds funny and a slight burned rubber smell comes out of machine. Any Thoughts, Thanks for the haelp:) Thomas Fix

Hello Thomas. If the noise is a roaring sounds during spin cycle, you will need to replace the bearing kit 6-2040130 and the seal kit 6-2095720. This is usually what is bad when the belt is burning during spin cycle.

While the agitator on my Maytag moves there does not seem to be significant action. For example when washing a pair of queen size sheets the powder detergent does not dissolve. Moreover, it appears not to be spinning out the water from clothes as it used to. I checked the belts and the drive belt appeared loose and was able to "pluck-off" the pump belt. Neither appeared worn just loose. The machine was purchased in May of 1997. So it might be time to replace the belts, but how do I know that this is a belt problem? Could the transmission be failing causing the above noted problems? And if so how do I test for a faulty transmission?

Hello Mark. You will need to check and see if the belts on the unit are burnt or cracked. If so, you will need to replace the belts 12112425. Hope this helps.

Hello Tom. The belts are easy to replace on this model. Just lean the washer back and roll the old belts off the pulleys and then roll the new belts 12112425 onto the pulleys. You will need to use the old one to find the correct location for the different sized belts. Hope this helps.

Hello Kevin. Check and make sure there is nothing stuck under the agitator and it is binding the agitator. If not and everything else is working properly, then the transmission 6-2097750 may be bad in the unit and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Back again after you helped me with my 15 year old washer that stalled once it was filled. I replaced the lid switch and all was well for several weeks. Recently, on two occasions, the washer fills, stops in cycle and buzzes without doing anything more. After shutting it off, I move the drive belt and motor and when I start it again, all is well. We have never replaced the belts. Is it time for that or is this something else please?

Hello Stephen. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the motor 12002353 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
