J.S. March 09, 2018 for Model Number WTW6600SG2 Whenever it comes the time in a cycle for the drum to spin or even turn, the washer stops with an F50 code. Entering diagnostics will reveal both the F50 and F51 codes. After reading several threads, I replaced the RPS sensor, the wiring harness (came in a kit with the sensor), and the control module. In the manual testing mode, the wash, rinse, and spin lights illuminate when rotating the drum. I have to wonder if I got bad parts or if I should have replaced the stator instead.
1 Answer Hello J.S., The F50 indicates that the RPS is not sensing the motors' rotation. This could just be the fact that the motor is not rotating but the F51 fault is the code that directly indicates the RPS has failed. This can be an issue with the RPS, the harness, or the control board WPW10189966. Read More...
1 Answer First check the spin basket, make sure there's nothing stuck in one of the drain openings in the tub and rubbing on the outer tub. Then raise check the washer front and check the motor rotor and the center bolt for being loose and out of alignment. If all's ok, then remove the spin basket and check the basket hub and drive gear, to see if they're damaged or clogged with sediment or debris, this would usually present an error code, but not always. Charles January 30, 2018 for Model Number WTW8900BC0 I have been having UL and LF codes. The unit appears to function in automatic diagnostic mode. When running a cycle, I start having UL codes with approximately 15 minutes left. The UL will start flashing, then the unit tries to reset the load but gets hung up in this reset mode. All this happens with or without clothes in the washer.
1 Answer Hello Charles, This can be an issue with the RPS W10183157 or the main control W10761026. Read More...
Adam January 24, 2018 for Model Number WTW6700TW1 I've replaced the shaft and bearings on my Whirlpool Cabrio. Once i've put it back together to do a test, it gave me a F50 error code and it won't spin. I did the automatic diagnostic test on the machine and still it wouldn't spin. i tried the test again and open the lid to give it a spin to see if it would do something during the spin test then it started spinning wildly and it was noisy with a banging/grinding sound from the rotor rea. The other times i did the test, and i didn't touch the washing plate to kickstart the spin cycle, it wouldn't spin and give me the F50 error code. I also noticed that there's an area on the stator that the wire from one of the wiring coil is broken. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Adam, This issue would most likely be caused by a RPS sensor that is not in place properly or that the rotor and stator being damaged. Read More...
David January 16, 2018 for Model Number wtw6600sw2 I replaced the bearings, seal and drive shaft. now the rotor is rubbing against the stator. I have taken the rotor off and put it back on several times and cannot get it to stop rubbing. what is the best way to stop the rotor from rubbing?
1 Answer Hello David. It sounds like the stator is not seated properly and is sitting up to high for the rotor to be rubbing it. Try repositioning the stator. Read More...
Brady January 07, 2018 for Model Number Whirlpool Cabrio platinum I replaced the bearing and shaft on my cabrio platinum and now am getting a UL code that I wasn't getting before the bearing and shaft replacement. It also sounds like a rubbing noise when the rotor is turning the drum. Could you point me in a direction of my possible problem? Thanks
1 Answer Brady, You will want to make sure that the shaft is in place properly where it is not angled. If the bearing and shaft did not get in straight then it will cause this issue. Read More...
Anthony October 12, 2017 for Model Number 110.27072600 Washer BANGS & BANGS and gives a UL error message whenever it spins We checked the Suspension Rods and they look intact and do not look broken or unstable nor the anchor cups on the bottoms of the rods. The 4 rods look stable and normal strength. Took off the Stater and that looks fine except for minor cracks in the plastic frame. All copper wire coils are intact and not unwinded at all What next?
1 Answer Hello Anthony. If the unit gives a UL code, even when empty, you will need to order and replace the suspension rods W10820048 on the unit. Thank you. Read More...
Joe B. August 27, 2017 for Model Number MVWB300WQ0 The bearing went bad and gave me the F51 code. I replaced the bearings, seal and center shaft and put it back together. Now, at the start of spin cycle, there's crackling noises coming from the motor without it spinning the basket, then it shuts off and flashes the F51 code again. Does this mean the stator is bad? When I had it apart, it looked pretty black on the surface of the coils.
1 Answer Joe, The F51 error code is for the RPS sensor and you will want to check the wiring between the RPS sensor and motor to the control board to make sure that there is no faulty wiring. If this checks ok then the RPS sensor will be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Dale May 22, 2017 for Model Number 110.27072600 When I repaired the drive shaft and bearings I found that the stator has cracks all around it Is this a problem?? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Dale. As long as the stator is working properly it should be fine. If it starts giving you problems then I would recommend replacing it. Read More...
Jeannine May 19, 2017 My washer and stops spinning and when I went to check it, it had kind of hand a funny smell like maybe burned. I called a repairman and he said it is the motor stator and he wants to charge $295. Does this sound reasonable or should I get a second opinion?
