- Risks arise as insulation deteriorates potentially exposing live current
This is a genuine Whirlpool OEM replacement this part is also compatible with Maytag, Jenn-Air and some Kenmore models.

No heat in my maytag dryer lde412 David D. • Rock Creek , OH • November 18, 2014
I took off the front cover and checked the sensors which were all good. Then I removed the cover for the heating coil after finding that it appeared open. Found that the coil had in fact broken but the break was not visible just by looking in. Located the break in the coil within an insulator near the back. I checked appliance stores locally and found the coil for far more than Appliance Parts Pros wanted for it. I placed an order after chatting with a tech, I placed and order and had it in...

Catastrophic failure of the dryer cycling thermostat in a maytag neptune super stack Richard M. • Cornish , NH • October 19, 2020
Through 15 years of vibration, the Cycling Thermostat evidently had degraded to the point where one electrical connection or more came loose and caused a short. There is also a possibility that the Bakelite section of the Dryer Cycling Thermostat body separated from the metal base, simultaneously exposing all four connections to a short. The thermostat literally exploded into chunks and dust. There was a heavy arcing and then, thankfully, the thermal fuse blew and shut down power to the short...

Matrag dryer making loud squealing noise that changes constantly! Dwain A. • Mayfield , KY • June 05, 2015
Knowing that several things could be causing the noise, I ordered parts to cover all possibilities; once I got inside the dryer, I found the Idler Arm and Idler Pulley were worn and loose; replaced them and the Tumbler Bearings; the dryer now runs quiet again. Was going to replace the Drive Belt but believe it to be the wrong model, it was narrower and had 4 ribs whereas the old one seems to be OK and I believe has 5 ribs. The Drum Rollers and Shafts were OK Also replaced the Door Latch.

Maytag gas dryer was not heating Christopher P. • Los Angeles , CA • October 04, 2014
Did some dryer repair research (dryer not heating) on the internet. Bought an ohm meter, opened up the dryer and tested the cut-off-T, high limit thermostat, dryer igniter, flame sensor, cycling thermostat for continuity. The igniter was bad, the other parts tested ok. Went online to AppliancePartsPros.com searched for a new igniter for my specific dryer model, found the right replacement igniter and watched the video on how to replace the igniter. Because my dryer is old (15+ years) and I...

Overheating maytag dryer Mike H. • Sammamish , WA • December 31, 2015
Our dryer suddenly began overheating while drying. Outside of the dryer cabinet was uncomfortably warm to the touch, dryer drum was hot, charred smelling laundry. Based on what I read it was likely one of two things - a failed cycling thermostat or a shorted heating element. First I cleaned the vent hose and ducting to ensure good airflow, which I had.
I opened the circuit breaker first, then took off the door and front cover. I started with a thorough cleaning of the dryer with a vaccuum...

Would not heat Chris A. • Saint Joseph , IL • January 04, 2017
I figured there could only be a couple reasons why the dryer would not heat so I did some research. I read where you could test for continuity on the parts to determine which one was bad. A friend referred me to this site, I looked up the part for my particular model, ordered and replaced the part. It could not have been any easier. I will come back to this site with my future appliance parts needs for sure!

This multi-temperature cycling thermostat regulates the dryer's drum heat, switching the heater on and off to match the temperature setting you choose. It can help restore consistent drying if temperatures are erratic, loads run too hot, or cycles take too long.
- Maintains target temperature by opening and closing the heater circuit across multiple heat settings
- Provides calibrated temperature control for safe, efficient drying
- Failure may present as no heat or low heat, overheating, very long dry times, or inconsistent temperatures
- Intended for models with multiple temperature selections
What's included: 1 cycling thermostat Install notes:
- Unplug the dryer; shut off gas supply if applicable. Allow the appliance to cool before servicing.
- Take a photo of wire positions; move wires to the new thermostat one at a time to matching terminals and ensure snug connections.
- Remove/install mounting screws and seat the thermostat flat against the mating surface for proper sensing.
- After reassembly, clear lint passages and verify proper vent airflow.
Diagnostic tips:
- If there's no heat at all, also check the thermal fuse, high-limit thermostat, heating element (electric), or igniter/burner components (gas).
- Restricted venting can mimic thermostat issues and cause overheating or long dry times.
