First unplug or turn off the electrical breaker to the dishwasher. Then I removed the phillips head screws holding the inner door to the outer door panel. I then removed the hex head screws holding the dispenser assembly. The electrical connection needs to be disconnected and then reverse the procedure to install the new dispenser. Would not clean dishes Aaron H. • Saint James , MO • March 16, 2015
My dishwasher quit cleaning dishes and lost all pressure. The food screen would keep clogging up and I would have to take it out and clean it by hand. After putting a new impeller in, the "gears" on the impeller connected with the screen blades, the old impeller the "gears" were stripped off. And the new impeller comes with new seals, after taking old one out I noticed it wasn't long before my old seals would have started leaking. Very simple repair if you watch the great video that...

My washing machine smelt horrible Bryan W. • Ogdensburg , NY • August 20, 2018
First off I have to say that Appliance Parts Pro's saved me from hiring a repair person, and quite possibly just getting rid of my washing machine. Their video's helped out SOOOOOOOO much and the advice one of their agents gave me over their online chat helped me trouble shoot something when I got stuck. On top of this they shipped my parts fast enough that less than 12 hrs later they arrived, which allowed me to get my machine up and running way faster than the other options I had available....

Kitchenaid dishwasher would not complete wash cycle John M. • Lillian , AL • July 31, 2016
This was a difficult problem to diagnose. Because the machine would start the wash cycle then shut down after a few minutes of running, it appeared that the cause might be a bad thermostat or heating element, but all checked out ok. That led me to believe that the control panel may be the culprit but it also appeared to be working correctly when I ran the diagnostics program. A visual examination of the components found that the door switch electrical connections looked discolored, so I removed...

Odor in dishwasher stuck valve in vertical tube replace check valve Victor F. • Durham , NC • December 26, 2014
The odor in the dishwasher was due to scum buildup in the walls, the racks, and in the lower part of the drain below the lower rotating arm. One of the valves in the vertical tube was stuck in the open position; since the valves cannot be replaced, the entire tube needed replacement. The check valve probably needed no replacement, but once I opened the bottom part, I decided to replace it anyway. I used this Youtube video to replace the tube, open and clean the drainage part of the washer:

All the leds on the front panel were off and there was water sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher from the previous cycle it appears the power was off to the unit Ryan R. • Bedford , NH • October 24, 2015
I first verified the house panel circuit breaker was not tripped. It wasn't so I removed the bottom kick plate of the unit, using a circuit cricket I verified the power feed to the unit was live.
The bottom kick plate had a trouble shooting guide in a plastic sleeve which I opened and reviewed. Based on information in there it appeared the TOC was likely the issue. (We recently lost power and used a stand by generator. Previously when we did the the dishwasher had a blinking LED on the...

Wheels my top dishwasher rack fell off Paul M. • Ramona , CA • September 11, 2020
Ordered the parts and followed the instruction videos that Sears provide, Initially tried to order parts from Sears directly but the web-page kept complaining about my shipping address. Their loss- no wonder they're going out of business. Also, should note that the original assembly was plastic but the replacement was metal. Sure sign of a crappy cost-cutting decision. Overall, very happy with Appliance Parts Pros!

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Kitchenaid dishwasher leaking on bottom left of door Neil D. • Centerbrook , CT • January 14, 2017
First tried replacing the seal around the door as that was the simple and most logical fix. Still leaked. Removed the front and upper panel to inspect. Found calcium deposit running down from under the Air Vent Assembly and wet behind the black stick-on insulation. Easy to trace the leak to the bottom of the door.
=> Ordered new Air Vent Assembly, gasket and Vent Deflector.
Parts arrived. Took 5 minutes to remove upper panel. Removed the two wires from the Air Vent Assembly. Inserted a...
