My GE dryer from the late 80's/early 90's was squealing when it would start up, belt or bearing I was thinking. A few months back I changed out the "Bearing Slides" on the front side of the drum thinking that would stop the annoying squeaking every time we use the dryer. They were very worn and one was missing. But to my dismay it only lessened it by about 10%. After doing a bit more research I discovered the "Rear Shaft Bracket Assembly" also needed replacement. • No heat or not enough heat

GE Gas Dryer Model DBVH512GF1WW began to heat for only a short amount of time so drying clothes took WAY too long. Read online that the first thing to replace are the solenoids. Bought the two solenoids from AppliancePartsPros.com for about $50 total, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Had to watch a few videos to learn to disassemble the dryer, and the job took a couple of hours, but now that I know what I'm doing it could be done in less than 30 minutes. Tested the old t-stat with ohm meter. When shaken, the contacts would open. Replaced it with new t-stat and it works fine now. Thanks! Read more

Removed 3 screws which required a torx bit. Used small headless nails to line up the holes and use as a guide for sliding on new diffuser. Put screws in one at a time and tightened down. rotating the drum helped with slight mis-alignement with the screw holes. Read more

I could hear the dryer motor hum, but it would not run. There was nothing obstructing the motor from turning freely so I assumed I needed a new motor. I went ahead and ordered a new pulley switch to change out while I was in there just in case. The parts arrived faster than expected. I changed the switch first and then checked the old motor which surprisingly fired right up. Now I have to decide whether to return the new motor or keep it as a spare. Read more

We ordered a door switch, dryer latch and strike plate. We realized that we only needed to replace the door switch. We watched a few videos and then replaced the switch. We couldn’t find a video for our model but they did give us a pretty good idea about what we needed to do. The hardest part was getting the original door switch out, all of the videos we watched showed us that it would pop out with a little pressure from a flat head screw driver, from the front of the switch.
