Evaporator fan motor Charles D. • Covington , LA • November 01, 2015
Changed fan motor, rubber grommets, and dust cover. It sounded like the vibrating sound was being caused by the motor. But, come to find out I had a chipped blade on one of the fan blades. So make sure and check the fan blade first. Thanks Appliance Parts Pros everything for just as it should.

Ice (broken seal) fizzer light out due to ice then auger motor auger coupler and solenoid cube failure Damon B. • Tumwater , WA • December 19, 2015
This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet.
The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. The directions on the box it is shipped in said to heat the seal up in hot water then cool it down with tap water. I didn't need to do that. It took a lot of massaging of the seal, but...

The cover crusher on my ge ice maker bucket shattered it hasn't been working well since we originally got the refrigerator sometimes we had to scoop ice out rather than get it through the door William H. • Cary , NC • August 15, 2015
I looked for a site that sold replacement parts for my make of GE refrigerator. I found AppliancePartsPros, and was very surprised at how organized it was. By entering the model number of my refrigerator, I was shown a set of (approximately) 8 general parts diagrams for my refrigerator. I chose the ice making/dispensing diagram. I matched the part that shattered (from use) to what was on the diagram.
What I didn't know was how to install the part. I saw references by other customer comments to...

Nothing worked except the light :) Przemyslaw B. • Wallington , NJ • September 20, 2014
I changed the motherboard - computer and also changed the motor in the freezer, because it was doing a howling sound every time it turned on. The repair technician asked for $500 for a repair and that is on top of the $230 I paid him two days before. I looked up the parts and decided to try myself and it paid off. Great instructional videos. Thanks

This story is somewhat unique, on Friday 5/23/14 I was cleaning the frig, when I broke the glass shelf. I went online to purchase a new glass shelf. Parts Pro said they would process my order if confirmed by 4:00 pm. and would ship it same day. I placed the order, and to my amasement the new shelf arrived 22 hours later, yes I said 22 hours. my hat is off to the Parts Pro. The water coming from the ice maker and water dispensor had a foul odor and taste even after changing the filter David H. • Needham , MA • May 15, 2015
I replaced the supply line to the fridge - no change in taste. I replaced the MWF manifold and tubes, the water inlet valve and the water storage line. That did it, good tasting water again! The ice still has a bad taste, so I'll replace the supply tube from the valve to the ice maker. Overall, replacing these parts was easy and the videos from Appliance Parts Pros helped.

GE refrigerator front and rear wheels. The rubber shell on the wheels had cracked and peeled off. Carl C. • London , OH • August 18, 2023
The front wheel assembly replacement (WRXO2X12454) was straightforward and easy to do. Took maybe 30 minutes start to finish.
The rear wheel assembly (wheel WRO2X10695 and axle WRO1X10604) that was more involved as the original wheel axle is actually a rivet that you have to cut out.
1. I used a vibrating multitool with a carbide blade to cut the axle out. Had to use a pair of vise grips to hold the rivet to keep it from spinning while cutting it.
2. The new axle I drilled a 2mm hole thru the...

Burning actual flame coming out of 5sp overload/ptc Rick C. • Dover , DE • February 03, 2015
We isolated a burning smell in our kitchen to our refrigerator, GE Profile PSS23MGTCCC which we purchased in November of 2006. This occurred at 3AM on 29 January 2015 and I am thankful that my wife got me up to investigate this odor. I unplugged the refrigerator.
I plugged the refrigerator back in at 6AM thinking it had time to cool. The burning smell happened immediately and I unplugged the refrigerator again right away.
My son in-law looked up some possible issues that could have...

Ice jamming fill cup coming off Mark H. • Glendale , AZ • February 29, 2016
Replaced the stripper and fill cup - turns out that the fill cup came with the locking tab broken off. The stripper had a missing paddle, and ice cubes would jam and shut down the ice maker periodically.
Let the ice maker warm up after you remove it so the plastic is not so brittle. You have to pry the old stripper out. Make sure the new one locks all across the front. My refrigerator has the ice maker mount toe the side instead of from the hangers in back. I wasn't sure how to remove it,...

Missing hardware for fridge doors Anita K. • Crossville , TN • July 03, 2015
We bought a used fridge and forgot to get the hardware to mount the doors. Looked up the model on your website. Using the pictures I was able to order just the parts I needed and not to duplicate anything (or leave anything out!). The parts arrived and because I watched the "how to" video I knew to use the "trick" to hold the doors up while attaching the hardware. Had the doors mounted in less than 15 minutes!.. Thanks

Not dispensing ice, making loud noise Dennis V. • Parker , CO • March 24, 2020
When I took it apart I found that the drive cup was cracked, the helix lock plate hole was reamed out and the ice deflector spring was broken. The biggest problem was the helix had slipped down the shaft and allowed the end of the shaft to bore a hole in the housing which made it a bear to get out. Others have had the same problem. Once I got past that obstacle, it was simple to replace all the parts and it's working like normal again. Very helpful video explaining the repair.

Evaporator fan making noise/changing speed; freezer light socket bad Paul S. • Albany , OH • November 26, 2016
Had some confusion of what part I needed, needed the one with the motor and thermostat. Fortunately, I've been fixing wiring for many years, I simply cut the new motor out of the harness, and used that nice glue-inside-heat-shrink tubing to seal the soldered 'Western Union' style splices. New light socket and lamps fit fine, worked fine, new motor is fine, problem resolved. FYI: Look closely at the wiring in you unit, there are two wire harnesses, one feeds the light, the other feeds the motor...
