Just replaced the things. Had to reuse old tine rows, rollers, the spray arm, etc., i.e. I removed 'em from the old racks and put on the new ones, but that was piece of cake. Also, I cleaned the food grinder and the discharge valve compartment (thank you very ???? ???? much, Internet), so spray arms around the top rack get enough water pressure now. The odor in the dishwasher was due to scum buildup in the walls, the racks, and in the lower part of the drain below the lower rotating arm. One of the valves in the vertical tube was stuck in the open position; since the valves cannot be replaced, the entire tube needed replacement. Seals the dishwasher air vent to prevent water leaks during operation. Replace if you notice dripping under the vent or wet insulation behind the panel.
First tried replacing the seal around the door as that was the simple and most logical fix. Still leaked. Removed the front and upper panel to inspect. Found calcium deposit running down from under the Air Vent Assembly and wet behind the black stick-on insulation. Dishwasher leaking from underneath? The float switch kit controls water level and stops overfilling. Typical repair time 10-30 minutes.
Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual. Chopper screen was completely blocked. Chopper blades separated from the shaft. Retainer ring came off of the shaft but was able to re install the chopper assembly. Worked fine after cleaning the screen and reassembly the lower spray arm. Lower spray arm hub tab broke when removing so purchased a new one with a new bearing.
