Maytag gas dryer was not heating Christopher P. • Los Angeles , CA • October 04, 2014
Did some dryer repair research (dryer not heating) on the internet. Bought an ohm meter, opened up the dryer and tested the cut-off-T, high limit thermostat, dryer igniter, flame sensor, cycling thermostat for continuity. The igniter was bad, the other parts tested ok. Went online to AppliancePartsPros.com searched for a new igniter for my specific dryer model, found the right replacement igniter and watched the video on how to replace the igniter. Because my dryer is old (15+ years) and I...

Water leak at the siphon break part saw water on floor opened washer and observed leak during spin cycle Russ C. • Jacksonville , FL • June 02, 2018
I decided to order the siphon break kit (siphon break, washer and clamp included), a new hose, and clamp (for the bottom hose connection) as the hose was original and well over 15 years old. I probably could have used the old clamp, but decided to get a new one in case there were problems with the old during removal. The video provided by A.P.P was helpful in giving confidence this was a task that could be done by myself. As was shown in the video, the hose connection to the siphon break had a...

Bearings were worn out makeing a lot of noise Lawrence L. • Largo , FL • August 08, 2015
I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. After I struggled to get it apart The repair went very easy, I used brake spring pliers to remove the springs it worked like a charm. I am very pleased with...

Thermal fuse blew John P. • Palm Coast , FL • January 02, 2016
Cleaned exhaust duct, but only from the dryer/laundry room side. Replaced thermal fuse. Unit worked for about two loads and thermal fuse blew again. This time I cleaned the exhaust vent on the roof of my 2-story house. It was found to be partially obstructed and I was able to remove a significant amount of lint from it. Also, I researched the problem and followed someone's advice to replace the cycling thermostat together with the thermal fuse if the thermal fuse blows. So far it has been...

Making loud squealing sound when dryer was turned on Michael M. • Plainfield , IL • November 19, 2018
Took the front panel off (the door front), disconnected the connector to the door switch and used a wooden clothespin to bypass the door switch. Turned on the dryer to locate loud squeaking sound and found it was coming from the motor area. When I started to take the blower section apart from the motor, that is when I saw the "blower wheel" slipped off the motor shaft. The blower wheel has a "C" clip retainer and compression ring to keep it snug on the motor shaft (but it was loose). Now I...
